Errr...in answer to another correspondant, CPS is CROWN PROSECUTION SERVICE in the UK.
You don't mention when your case is going to court so no accurate answer can be given with regard to the process involved in the renewal of your visa.. If I assume your visa expires BEFORE the case then it COULD make no difference to any visa outcome - though if the forms ask for any CHARGES or CONVICTIONS then you will have to declare. I can't remember what the forms say. If AFTER the case and you are CONVICTED - then YES...it'll have an impact.

You need a good lawyer. It won't be cheap, but it will be worth it in the end. Any visa renewal or work permit applications will be delayed until the charge is taken care of. If you are found innocent, you will probably, though not definitely be able to stay. The worst thing you could do at this time is to accept any kind of plea bargain as that is an admission of guilt and would most likely get you deported at the least.

dont worry, you'll be jailed with more mod cons than you can imagine, probaly get holidays too, gym, swimming pool, and after having three meals a day, you'll end up being deported at the cost of approx £40,000, but dont worry we'll manage to pay it.
So the answer is yes you can stay at HM's pleasure, and then go home.you'll have put on a few stone, look better, and probably get a degree while at it. If it were a British child, well then there f*** aren't they, who'd give £40k a year, wish I even earnt that,be grateful, OH AND MIND THE SOAP

It might effect your chances of getting a renewed visa.
Do you have a lawyer? You really need a lawyer. If you cannot renew it, then after the trial and if you're found innocent you may be able to reapply.
Please. If you don't have a lawyer, get one. They may know better if you can reapply as well.
edit: I didn't realise that CPS stood for child proctective services. You're screwed if you slept with a minor. Citizens here can get in trouble for sleeping with a minor even if they thought they were an adult. I doubt you will be able to reapply.

You have a big problem and you are going to need a good lawyer. CPS is the children protective services and that means that you have sex with a minor and the rest of your story you have to prove it. Even if she's 17 years old and she accused you of having sex without or with consent you still can be prosecuted in this country. I think that they should tell any international student the laws of the US. Because in the rest of the world you can be 18 or 22 and be dating a girl 17 or 16 and isn't illegal, but in this country is considered statutory rape when you have sex with a minor of that age. If what you are saying is true I wish you a good luck but you have to prove it. But I repeat it one more time, you are an adult, she's a minor, is her word against yours. And for your renewal if you are acquitted I don't see any problem but your future in this country looks doom. Better to go back to your country if you are lucky to get out of this one.

DENY DENY DENY make her prove it because its not easy to prove something like that and if she wanted you to marry her that would be a good thing on your behalf because it gives her a motive to make these allegations!go to http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis and read your rights and see if theirs anything you can find that would apply to your situation, they have to prove you did that you are innocent until proven guilty in america and this kind of thing happens alot but if they see bruises or any kind of abuse or she has witnesses your screwed but if theirs nothing like that working against you then its your word against hers period so dont bargain with the prosecution just stick to your story and make them prove it!

My professional opinion is that you should go to jail. CPS is Child Protective Services so you were having sex with a minor. In this country it's a crime and it should be in whatever third world counrty you came here from. There is no such thing as consensual sex when the victim is a child and you should be smart enough to know that no matter where you came from. My wish for you is that you try to renew your visa from a cell. You are a pervert by my standards. I don't suppose I'll be your best answer, right? LOLOLOL

You won't get professional advice here, you will need to pay for a good lawyer to get out of this one.
