hi my daughter had her 2nd MMR and DTP last week and everything was fine. her elder sister bit her on her arm around the point where she had the injection. she didn't bite her that hard not enough to pierce the skin or leave teeth marks but now she has a big red mark on her arm that looks awful. has anyone ever had anything similar? i don't know which injection she had in that arm. the mmr or DTP

If you are in the UK call NHSD on 0845 46 47 & speak to a nurse,
could be a bit of an infection but u are obviously worried otherwise u wouldn't have asked the question so call them as they are 24hrs a day & probably at a quiet period at this time of the day, oh & they won't judge you either, so when you ask a question they won't harp on about your other childs choice of communication !!!

the vaccine should have not relation to the mark that's there now. it's probably a bruise. the vaccines are injected into the muscle, it's possible that she had some local swelling around the injection site and that that, plus the bite, caused a larger wound. i wouldn't worry about it though.

She probably got an infection due to the bite. Serious, take her to the pediatrician.
