usually someone has to whip out one of those stupid ball-retriever contraptions and slow things down by fishing around for 10 minutes in muddy water, finding 3 old waterlogged balls with cuts in them, and dredging up all manner of crud, before reluctantly conceding defeat and muttering something inane like, "well, it's down there somewhere..."

It gets moist. Jk you could take a drop the place THE BALL CROSSED the water. you do no longer drop the ball besides the incontrovertible fact that far the ball is going and hits. in case you hit your first shot from the tee into the water you would be dropping one, hitting 3.

You have several options
1. Play it where it lies in the water
2. One stroke and rehit from same spot
3. Keep the spot where it last crossed the hazzard line in between you and the hole. You can not go closer to the hole then that point (where it went into the water) drop it with a one stroke penalty.

As long as no one else notices it went into the water, drop another ball and play it. Otherwise, add one to your score and play it.

by the lake that it went they would have circles drawn on the grass u will put another ball on the circle and shout from there, don't forget that u have to add 2 more point to ur score card.
good luck!

It sinks to the bottom, you 'take a drop' and it costs you 'stroke and distance'
Wait one! Stroke and distance (2) only if the water is oob.
