Even though you're watching your calories, you may want to pay attention to what foods you're getting those calories from. Are you paying the gym instructor? Their help isn't usually very helpful unless they're getting paid (above and beyond what the gym pays them).
But, basically, you need to do cardio in the beginning of your session for 7-10 minutes just to get your heartrate up. Then spend most of the time doing weight training - but make sure it's low weight, high reps in order to lose weight. After your workout, make sure to do about 15 minutes of stretching. Cardio every day is good, but alternate whether you're doing upper or lower body in order to let your body heal. L-Glutemine is a good supplement to heal muscles.
As for eating, I'd suggest reading the book "The Paleo Diet" for some good ideas on what foods will help in your goal.
Good luck to you and stick with it!

Whoa, you are under-eating big time. You should never go under 1200 calories, your body could be in starvation mode and hanging on to every fat gram for dear life. Increase your caloric intake and eat 5 meals a day. Try Tony Venuto's: Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle. It really works and he explains everything so well. Good Luck!

What are you eating? How much of it are you eating? How often do you exercise?
Exercise isn't really going to make you lose weight as much as your diet will. Your diet each day should be made up of the following: 60% complex carbohydrates(whole grains, fruit), 25% fats(UNSATURATED), and 15% proteins. Also, make sure you stay hydrated and that you're eating fiber to help your digestive system stay healthy.

Okay....3,500 calories to burn one pound of fat
You keep a journal of your food intake..I think its highly important for you to see on paper the numbers of what you are taking in.
You buy a calorie counting watch..You take your total intake calories +3,500 add them together and THAT is what you need to burn everyday..to burn one pound.
If you start seeing the numbers I think it will help see that alot of what you might eat..may be uneccesary. You have to remember that your stomach and your intake of food at one meal sitting should be the size of your fist. It doesn't take much food to maintain your health. You can have 5 to 6 servings of healthy food the size of your fits over three regular huge meals. Your body is like a conveyer belt. You need a little at a time to keep everything moving. Good Luck

I've heard nothing but good things about the APPLE PATCH diet. Its for people who want to take off 10-40 lbs average. Its all-natural too, not like a lot of the risky diet pills. Everything you need to know is on their site:

One of the best things you can do is add walking to your exercises.
Try a 45 minute walk sometime during your free time. It is also very good for your heart & lungs.
