I went to a fortune teller on a dare when I was in my late twenties.
She told me I would die at age 63. I just found out that I have to have major surgery done on March 22. I will be 63 next week. Some of the other things she told me, have come true. Some not.
This has got me scared. Am I being silly. The surgery was originally scheduled for this month and they just changed it. She also told me I would come into money just before I die. I just inherited a home.

i do not know if you believe God. If so, how do you think that a fortune teller is greater than God. When you are God' child, why and how do you think, God will allow the fortune teller's statement become true. Actualluy, there is no one except God who can predict the future. As you have declared some of the statements made by your fortune teller have not come true. So why do you worry. Nothing will happen as you fear. You will be as strong as you were after the surgery. At this juncturre i would like to quote you two old sayings.
1. 90% of the things that we fear will not be going to happen and 10% could not be stopped by worrying. So do not worry unnecessarily. Pray to God and face the operation bravely.
2. Don't tell your worries to others. 70% don't care and other 30% are happy.
good luck. God bless you.

A home is not money. It is a home and is only money if you sell it. Also most fortune tellers only tell you what you have already told them. They ask you obvious open ended questions about what they think you want to hear then you fill in the blanks. I agree with the other person. It will only come true if you want to believe it. Don't let it bother you and if you are not sure about anything about the surgery then ask your doctor. I'm sure the doctor can answer your questions about the surgery and put your mind at ease. I know a doctor would know far more about the surgery then a fortune teller. Ask him what the chances you will die are and if you feel the risk is greater then it is worth then don't have the surgery.

you will die if you tie to much emotional significance to it. fortune tellers earn money by saying certain things, but they are not really able to tell the future. i could tell you myself several things and whether or not they come true depends on certain things-first, how much do you believe in what i say? all curses and fortunes work if you believe in them strong enough. a curse works because you worry and you believe something will happen that you stress yourself literally into it. a fortune works because you compel yourself in some fashion to get it. if a fortune teller says you will succeed in your job and you are a hard worker, then most likely you would have succeeded whether she told you or i told you or nobody told you. a second factor is interpretation of what i said-for example, she told you you would come into money and you pointed to the inherited home. you could point to anything else. it's like the superstition of bad things in threes-where do you interpret the first of the trio to be? a death of a favourite star or relative or friend? your cat getting run over? you losing a job? your souffle' collapsing? some will come together by sheer coincidence. i could say that at age 65 that you will meet a woman that will change your life. at 65, a woman comes into your life and you wind up being with her until the day you die. it does not mean i have the power to predict the future-it's a coincidence it occurred. or maybe you made it happen. but in any case, the first thing you should do is relax and have faith-faith that you will come through your surgery with flying colours. do not hope-that implies doubt. faith is certainty. be certain and put those doubts seeded by the fortune teller out of your head.

If you are really concerned about dying, then a fortune teller would not be my choice of where to put my faith. Fortune tellers say enough things in general terms that some of them are likely to come true.

Now, she has you worried for no good reason. You didn't mention what type of surgery, and I'm sure you know there are risks associated with even the most minor, but talk to a minister or at least a good friend who can help put your mind at ease, and I predict you will come through your surgery with flying colors! :)

The future is not set in stone. Most "fortune tellers" will let you know this right up front. (This is also a good failsafe in case nothing they tell you comes true.) I wouldn't worry about the surgery, it could be the reason for needing the surgery is what she saw. Depending on the neccessity of this procedure, 40 years ago, there could have been little or no reliable treatment, so she saw your death....

I wouldn't worry about it for a minute.

Hello SassyK, I think the fear of it only aggravates the problem. Instead of believing in the fortune teller, why not pray to the Higher Existence that you believe in? If you don't believe in a Higher Existence at all, then just focus yourself to getting to Age 64. Fortune tellers may tell us things and such, but didn't you know that we also have the power to change the course of our lives if we choose to?

Chose whether you want to live or die... a mind is a very powerful thing. If you believe you will die.. you will!.. no doubt.. BELIEVE THAT YOU WONT! A fortune teller told me that I'll do gr8 in science... n i love science.. coincidence.. but it did give me courage. I look at fortune tellers as warners and encouragers... IF they tell me I'm gonna be fat in future... I watch my diet and if they tell me something good will happen.. I look forward to it...
One fortune teller told me that I would become really sick between 13-14 and would have to undergo operation, I'm 15 and no operation yet!...

Hang in there! will pray for you. Take care.

Have you spent the last 40 something years dwelling on this? I hope not. Is this surgery life threatening? You shouldn't ever live or die your life from what a gypsy tells you is in the cards. It's strictly for entertainment purposes. You could have read into alot of things you were told by this person.

Oh my Gosh!
It is very hard for me as a christian to suggest you to not believe, after all those things have come true. I wouldn't have been in that kind of situations, because its my belief that things happen for a reason, and God grants some people the gift of foresight , when its done as a gift you shouldn't sell your services, so, to this point how much you trust the person and how much you will allow God to act in your life. If its your time to depart you will depart with or without surgery. Events will happen sooner or latter, but it is not for us to control that.
I wish the best for you. This is a good time for you to pray and connect with the Father, he will answer your prayers, and grant you peace and readiness for what ever is to happen. God Bless you!

I believe in the power of the mind. If you believe it, then it is true, if you don't then it is not. A fortune teller ones told me that I would die by a single bolt of lightning, and guess what, I hate lightning, but I haven't died yet. If you believe in it, you will make it come true, so don't and you'll be fine.
