I am flying into San Juan, Puerto Rico and wondered if most of the Taxi drivers speak English. I know enough Spanish to get me by, but I was hoping a Taxi driver's English would be better than my Spanish.

Also, how much would a Taxi cost from the airport to the Condado area?

The taxi will know enough English to charge you and take you to your destination with no problem. That will be the worst case scenario, most of them are very fluent. There is a welcoming "group" called PR welcomes you (they wear orange shirts) at the airport from the PR Tourism Company that can help you with the fares and they can give you a voucher with the flat rate. It should be around $15-$20. The guy who said $10 is wrong, maybe to Isla Verde area but not to Condado.

Well, almost all of the taxi drivers in San Juan speak english. As a matter of fact, almost all of the people in San Juan speak english. But be careful not to confuse the taxi with a public car.

the tourist taxi's know enough to drive tourists where they need to go, I have never had a problem speaking with any of the drivers, If you ever got a fare for 10 dollars you are lucky, I would say it will cost you between 18 and 20 to get you to Condado. Have fun.

You should be fine with the taxi drivers speaking English. There English will more than likely be better than your (or my Spanish).

You should pay around $10 for a taxi to the Condado area. I would get a price upfront before getting in. Should take about 10mins or so to get there (traffic permitting).

Hope you have fun.
