Matthew 25:41-46

The whole passage suggests that the people will kind of be in a state of shock about their judgment because he says "Many will say to me ... but, didn't we do this in your name and didn't we do that in your name?, and I will say Away from me you evil doers, for I never knew you" So apparently there will be many people who think they are in Jesus' name and doing the will of God but, it's clear they were misled and the Lord does not recognize them as being part of his bride. The Lord knows everyone so the KNOWING he is speaking of is the consummation of a marriage (the biblical term knowing is the union between husband and wife) that is accomplished in Holy Communion.

Lifting the traditions of Man to the level of the word of God.

Matthew 15:1-3 it tells us:

1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, 2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. 3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

There are a lot of the traditions of men that people who are supposed to be devoted to God lift to the level of a commandment. The traditional ceremony of marriage for example which is not a commandment and yet is lifted as one. The example Christ gives is another example.

You have to choose your master, God or the ways of People. They are not the same and you cannot have two masters.

PS: Midge has it pretty solid, good answer. The real communion, the real baptism, is of the Holy Spirit. When we accept Christ and the Holy Spirit leads us. We then put our faith in Christ and put away the words, ways and traditions of men. We test the Spirit with the scripture that we know we are not led astray for God is not two faced and the Holy Spirit leads us in understanding of the scripture.

Nothing. God cannot be "made" to do anything, or God would not be God. Only humans have this need to make God do something to people they don't like. And God won't listen to them either. God made all things they way they are, if you believe in God, so for God to punish a creation for behaving as it was created to do would be unfair in the extreme. Indeed, in most human systems, God would would be criminally liable for many of the things he is alleged to do (by those same humans, of course).

Formalism.
False Hopes.
Unreadiness.
No responsibility.
Neglect of duty.
Missed opportunities.
False profession of Faith.
Probably others too, these are the things Christ warns about in Matthew 25:1-13.

Nothing, because God doesn't exist. You have more to worry about from judgement of other people than you do from any invisible sky beings. So, don't worry about eternal judgements. That's all just superstition. Instead, just worry about who you are as a person and how you want to live your life here.

If you were not born again then He would say I never knew you. That's it. It means you were not saved, doesn't matter whether you were a good or bad person. Works don't count. On the other hand, those who are saved and served God will be greeted with "Well done my good and faithful servant."

Actually it goes something like this:

But Lord! Lord! We have done all these things in your name.

Then the response will be:

Depart from me, For I do not know you.

and there will weeping and grinding of teeth.

Only one thing would make God say, "I never knew you"...rejecting His Son Jesus Christ.
