I also have an 8 yr old who is always bored. ( even though she has her own TV, DVD, MP3, Computer, books, movies, toys, radio, etc.) I usually play board games w/her when she is bored. Or if it's warm where you are, try the park. Also go to a Art's N' Crafts store and buy some supplies and have fun with them. You guys could also make lunch together, clean the house, got to a mall & window shop, have lunch together, museums, the choices are endless. Hope that helped! Good Luck.

Get her into an extracurricular activity. This isn't just limited to school teams; check out art classes at Michael's and gymnastics or dance classes at a local school. For a one-time boredom thing, head off to the zoo for a day (yes, 8 year olds still love the zoo) or go buy some rollerblades in each of your sizes and skate around together.

Take her to the mall, the two of you play a game, play make up together, bake cookies or a cake, do an art project together. Look on the internet for paper mashe projects. If you have money go to the zoo, go get something to eat, go for a walk, go see a movie, go rent a movie.

make a craft together... Familyfun.go.com has winter bordom as its front page. It is a great magazine that frequently cures bored blues in our house. There are tons of game ideas, crafts. Also you could play a game. When it is icy it forces us to think of the things in life that we never feel we have the time for!

Take her to a library or bookstore and let her find books/authors she enjoys. Reading is a great way to cure boredom, and she will improve her communication by learning new words and phrases.
