Good point. However lightning rods are not necessarily in place for apostolic reasons. They are in place for electrical reasons. They would divert energy away or capturing energy to avoid causing damage. I wasn't aware they had them but they might be there for fire insurance purposes. I don't ever recall a fire at the Vatican either. However, it is written that this, our gift, ( Earth) is for us to do with as we might. God is involved but doesn't control the daily operations of what we do here. I have no doubt he could alter the plans real fast though :)

So the Vatican won't be hit by lightening. Faith never says we are not subject to the laws of nature or of this earth. Christians never say that either.

It used to cause all sorts of trouble way back when people didn't know about why electricity struck the tallest buildings in town (almost always churches).
Now its for the same reason you dont walk in front of a bus.

Because human intellect is a great blessing from God -- and this blessing from God is what enables us to develop things like lightning rods.
