How about fresh salsa and Tortilla chips. Start with one of the 28 oz. cans of diced tomatoes. Dice about half of a med onion, add some chopped garlic, fresh jalapenos (remove seeds and dice)...I would start with 3, and some chopped cilantro (this is a strong spice, so start with 1/4 cup and add more to suit your taste). Put in a blender or processer and blend until mixed to your prefered consistency. I make this all the time, and I never really measure anything, I just add a little, then if it needs something more, I add it. Also, I would add a little salt and if you like it spicier, you can add more peppers or maybe choose a hotter pepper. This is best when fresh made at room temp. Tastes just like the stuff you get at a really good authentic mexican resturaunt.

Another dip my friends and I like is Meaty Cheese dip. Brown about 1 lb. ground beef or ground turkey (I like this the best...better flavor than the beef). Season with some garlic and onion powder. Drain when done and add a packet of your favorite taco seasoning with the required water on the packet instructions. When that is finished simmering, add one of the big things of Velveeta cheese (cut into chunks) and melt over low heat being sure to stir frequently to prevent burning and to mix well with the meat. Add about a cup or more if you like of your favorite salsa. I would serve in a crock pot to keep the dip warm. Serve with tortilla chips.

OK here we go! Instead of buying the package onion soup mix, do what I do:
16 oz reg sour cream
2 teaspoons of beef granulated boulion
2 tablespoons minced chopped onion (the dryed kind in the jar)
Stir all together and refr for 10 minutes.... done....
Add more or less onions to taste.

Sometimes I'll put a teaspoon or so of horseradish in it along with real bacon bits if desired.

Tip: It is cheaper to buy the jar of granulated beef boulion and chopped onions than the package of boxed soup. You'll have enough boulion and chopped onions for many more dips so then you will only have to pick up the sour cream and you will always have the boulion & minced onions in the cupboard. Enjoy.
