My 3 yr old has not eaten for 2 days and I am worried about her. She has been sick lately, but my 1 yr old has the same illness and is eating healthy. I have made all her fave foods and she still won't. She just won't eat and I don't want her to get any sicker. Help!

That's the point, she will not eat anything at all. I have done all the usual, but she has not eaten ANYTHING for 2 DAYS. Not a single bite of anything. She is going to do damage to herself and I don't want to have to go through a hospitalization. That is why I'm worried. I need to get her to eat something or she will harm herself.

give her milkshakes or pediasure(i think that's what it's called) so she can get her calories in and just keep her hydrated. she won't harm herself by not eating because she will eat when she gets ready. try jello and Popsicles too. that's what hospitals would give her.
she will be fine. call her doc to confirm what's going on and ask them about the things you should try to give her. they will probably confirm the hydration thing and maybe try some chicken noodle soup(she may only want the broth)which is good for her too.
good luck! hope your kids get better soon.

My 3 year old does the same thing. Sometimes they are just not hungary...and that is OK. And, my 3 year old kinds goes in cycles...this week, he will eat everything not nailed down...next week, he will only pick at his food, and eat what he wants. 3 year olds are funny like that, with the eating habits
However, If he does not eat at meal time, he can not have ANYTHING else, until he eats that meal. No candy, no drink (besides water), no other food.
SO, lets say it is lunch time, and we have toasted cheese sandwich. He chooses not to eat it. He will not have anything, untill he eats that sandwich. And, I mean nothing. We are not mean about it, that is just the rules, and he knows that. We just say, OK, get down. THen when he asks for something, we simply ask if he has eaten his lunch.
By doing this, we have taught him that we eat at meal time, and not eat junk/snack all day - not that we dont have snacks, we just have them at the proper times.

She can go 5 days without eating before you need to get worried.
I called once when my son (3yo) was sick and hadn't eaten for at least three days. They were not the least bit concerned.
Just make sure she keeps her fluids up and stays hydrated. Maybe give her milk so she's getting more than what juice & water have to offer.
Call your doctor and ask him what he thinks.

As long as she's getting enough liquid I would give it another day or 2 - a child will eat when they are hungry - she must have a "bug" that is making her not want to eat. Her getting dehydrated is the big concern - if she is not drinking and has any symptoms of dehydration then you need to get her medical attention right away.

Call her pediatrician and make sure that they don't suspect that there could be a problem. If there isn't and she is just being a finicky eater, make sure she drinks enough liquid and try enticing her to eat without forcing it on her. Maybe seeing you or her sibling eating and enjoying something she loves to eat herself will make her decide she wants to try it too.

I wouldn't force her...she'll eat when she's hungry. There have been times where my son was sick and all he'd have was just juice. As long as she's drinking something she should be fine.

You can't force her to eat. Give her popsicles--this way she'll get calories and water into her.
