I'm not sure, but the term addict is definitely overused both in the medical community and society at large.
While I can't guess as to what draws you here, there are a couple of possibilities:
** The half empty: If you're trying to fend off personal demons that haunt you by clinging to religiosity you are not alone. Ask anyone who works in mental health how many people with mental illness look to the supernatural to justify thier madness.
*** The half full: Like many people these days, you have a spiritual void and a need to connect with other people at a deeper level than all the superficiality that modern society has to offer. That is a very good thing.
My best advice: keep an open mind when sharing religious views.
