What is causing Islam to become the fastest growing religion, and why is Christianity mocked?

Im not religious, but I've noticed, as Im sure many of you have, that Islam is being praised and its the opposite for Christianity. It seems that just a few years ago, this wouldn't have been a question, but since 9/11, the Islam community has blown up (no pun intended!). Why after such a tragedy, would so many people turn toward a religion that has such a stigma?

I'm not sure that Islam is the fastest growing religion but it is certainly spreading around the world as Muslims migrate to other countries. As far as Christianity, to understand why it is being mocked and Islam is given a free pass, you need to understand liberalism/neo-Marxism.

First of all, liberalism has socialistic and Marxist roots. The Democratic party has been influenced significantly by liberal thought and have become the Neo-Marxists of today. They have changed the party and made it Marxist leaning. George P. Lakoff from the University of California, Berkeley is one of the fathers of Neo-Marxism and the ACLU and is a major funding and enforcement body that influences liberal and Neo-Marxist thought in the US.

Liberals and Neo-Marxists believe in the following:

-- Christians are obstacles to an "enlightened" society
-- Drugs should be legalized
-- Homosexual marriage is equal to marriage between a man and a woman
-- Against states legally mandating that parents be informed when their underage daughters have abortions
-- Abortion is good for society and is not killing a human being
-- Euthanasia is also good for society and not killing a human being
-- America is harmful to the world
-- We should appease our enemies
-- People should be allowed into the US without legal process and there should be open borders
-- Large socialized & state run programs with high taxation are good for society such as socialized medicine, transportation, media, products and services.
-- Believe in "income redistribution"--that is, the government taxing affluent Americans at a higher proportional rate in order to fund entitlements to the less well off.

Neo-Marxists want to change America by weakening the country as a nation and significantly destroying the social fabric that has been been built over 200 years of our existence.

In order to strengthen the agenda above, liberals/neo-Marxists need to lessen the influence or eliminate Christianity.

Side Note:
To those who think Islam is a peaceful religion please answer why all the major wars are with Muslims. Also, why don't Muslim leaders come out against killing infidels?

The War on Terror and 9/11 has triggered curiosity about the religion in the center of this Islam, and as a result people want to find out more about it and some embrace the new-found knowledge and convert.

As for Christianity being mocked, I suppose it's because it's mainly located and centered in secular countries, like the West and therefore it lives side-by-side with secular, democratic and enlightened values and concepts, such as free speech, darwinism & evolution theory, gay rights e.t.c. and in comparison to those, it has an "opposite" set of values that doesn't fit in with the club of "enlightened" values and so it is bound to be a magnet for abuse and mockery from all sides of the spectrum.

Fear. Islam calls for active violence against anyone who opposes it. Christianity is truly a religion of tolerance and peace, so there is little threat of physical violence against anyone who speaks out against it.Now, the practice of Christianity in the past may have involved violence, but this is because the religion went through a secular phase when it was made the official state religion of Rome, under Constantine. Christianity had no doctrine for secular rule, unlike Islam (Sharia Law), but rather calls for Christians to "Give unto Caesar that which is Caesar's", so people had to make up new rules in that regard. These new rules were never an official part of Jesus teachings, yet are considered part of "fundamental" Christianity. Islam, on the other hand, went through a reformation which resulted in the rise of Wahhabism. Wahhabi is the school of Islam that Bin Ladin embraced so I probably don't need to go much farther on this topic.

It is because the opposition to President Bush's war on terrorism is growing. It appears that the people who oppose Bush on the war on terrorism are doing just for the heck of it. What ever may be reasoning given by Bush attacking Iraq but one thing is sure that it yielding the desired results. Now the Muslim world clearly understood that they couldn’t take the western world for ride especially USA by blaming India for every thing that's happening in South Asia and Middle East. Islam preaches violence. In Islam there is nothing like Gandhigiri I mean protest anything peacefully. It's only Dadagiri. The ideology of Islam as per Quran is 'Ankh ke Badle Ankh' means Eye for an Eye. That is the reason today every terrorist is a Muslim. Every Muslim is a fanatic by birth. Becoming a full-fledged terrorist is only a transformation. Once a Muslim child graduates from any Madarssa (the Islamic School) he becomes a full-fledged terrorist in the wings waiting for orders from any terrorist organization. What ever may be the intention but what President Bush doing is just right thing. If Presidents earlier to George W Bush had done what Bush is doing today the World Trade Center Towers would be existing today attracting millions of tourists every year and those 6000 people which includes few hundreds of Indians would have been alive and having fun with their families. Every single peace loving person should support President Bush because he is paying the terrorists in the same coin they understand. The second largest and most powerful Indian Army should join hands with US Army in the war on terrorism and finish the task of war on terrorism sooner than later. Long live President Bush and his ideology. It's also not out of place to mention that there are only two religions in this world that preach Tolerance towards other religions are Hinduism and the branch of it Buddhism. Dalai Lama and Shankara Charya are living examples to this fact.

Because people are researching Islam and realizing that Islam is the truth and that is the religion of ALLAH so they are reverting to it. Also they don't let the government or the media bewitch them about the lies you see everyday about Islam on TV. Did you know that most of the American coverts to Islam are women? And that Islam is going to be the most popular religion at the end of this century and 1 out of ever 3 Europeans is a Muslim revert?

I dont praise either religion, no im not an atheist, but i did become Pagan because i was disillusioned with christianity. some people dont see Islam as a threat, I see both christianity and Islam as a threat to soceity, but some people assume that if one religion is bad then either A. they are all bad or B. one religion is good, but there ARE more religions out there than the abrahamic three.

I saw an article the other day. An anti-Catholic exibit was allowed to remain in a display on the campus of a state-funded university. Catholic students, offended by the work, asked college officials if they would allow an anti-Islamic display. The Dean laughed and explained that Christianity was fair-game.

this happened because after 9/11 people started being curious about Islam and who studies the Islam and the Quran recognise that it is the right religion for him... i'm not saying that muslims or Islam accept this tragedy on the contrary its very sad to every muslim who is a true muslim.. but that is what happened people kept reading about the Islam and spent more time trying to understand the Quran...maybe u should try this too
