I'm in real pain, the left side of my face has puffed up and yesterday, I bought 'sinex' when I used it, I felt like my head was going to explode!
Thick, dark green mucous discharging from left nostril and really bad head and face pain. Tears from my eye...
What can I do apart from popping painkillers? Talk about 'Face-ache' OUCH!!

You probably need antiboiotics. Try taking a medicine such as a nasal spray to help the sinuses, and an anti-decongestant. It might help loosen things up if you sit in a room with a lot of steam (turn shower on really hot, let it steam up room, and sit there for about 15 mintues. also, you can put a warm pack on your face to help releieve the pain.

Try a Neti Pot. they have been using them in India for thousands of years. It's a small teapot-like thing that you fill with warm water and add a little sea salt (1/4 teaspoon per cup of water).

Tilt your head to the side and pour the water through one nostril and out the other, then switch sides. Gently blow your nose afterwards. Do this over the sink, obviously, and just remember to breathe through your mouth. It actually feels really good. do this twice a day.

Also, get some colloidal silver nasal spray, available at health food stores. It's a great natural antiseptic.

I am all for natural treatments, but if it lasts more than 2 weeks, please visit your doctor. Antibiotics are probably the best if you have a severe infection - there is no need to suffer like that.

Sounds like you are allergic to Sinex. The sensible thing to do is get to your local doctor. Don't 'pop' pain killers, can wreck your liver, every four hours is the recc dose. You can also buy codeine with 500mg paracetamol, they might be more helpful
