Truthfully, yes it in a way is Ford's issue but at the same time, if you bought the truck and it goes and burns that soon, I'd go after who ever sold me the truck as they probably would have gotten the paperwork on the recall if they held the truck any length of time. (I'm gathering you bought the truck on saturday and on sunday it burned)

Ford has had a recall on these parts for over a year and owners were notified by letter and in the media numerous times, so even though you can still get money possibly from Ford over it (call their Ford customer assistance for more info), I think if you bought the truck from any dealer or possibly even a individual, you can still possibly have some legal recourse through them for not fixing the fault if they were notified about the problem.

I read in another post you contacted Ford.. did you contact a dealer or Ford motor company themselves? Because Ford motor company usually is real good about handling recalled part damaged vehicles...

Old recall has been out for about a year now. Ford will not replace the truck. It should have been repaired by the previous owner.
The pressure switch on the master cylinder fills with brake fluid if the diaphram fails and shorts out the cruise control circuit. The recall installed a fusable link inline.

Go after the previous owner. He propably sold you the vehicle as is, but I believe he has a responsibility to get all safety recalls fixed before selling a vehicle. Also, contact Ford themselves, they are actually pretty good people and they may be able to assist you. They may not pay for damages, but they can help you take the correct course of action against the previous owner.

dont be afraid to research a USED vehicle prior to buying it...You should have known there was a recall, and found out if it was fixed or not.
