Poor Pangel. They not only blindly ignore the facts, they blindly ignore the meaning of your question. "I don't get it." What's not to get? You're absolutely right. Once many people are confronted with something that may go against their beliefs they often pretend as if the other person is just spewing "hate". I would imagine it's because they have neither the knowledge or the patience to allow for any other truths except the ones they were raised with. The "hating Jesus" thing is ridiculous. It's too often utilized to refute listening to reason. I'm sure there's a loony tune or two out there who have said this, but it's an extreme rarity. A great deal of people do not seem to have the tools to handle being confronted about what they deem as correct, so they choose to show animosity toward anyone who might be of a different opinion. It's the "because my Dad said so" dilemma. The only option is to continue to educate people about humanity and choice and acceptance of beliefs not their own that in no way threaten anyone. I cannot accept that a group might hate an entire people just because a book says it's OK.
Perhaps this is why I've chosen to regress. ;-)

I doubt if anyone really hates Jesus.
I think they just don't like many of the misconceptions about his teachings that are currently being promoted. It gets pretty difficult to find the real message of Jesus underneath all of the hate and bigotry that gets passed off as his teachings.
You can't blame people for being a bit confused.
Love and blessings Don

Well, no matter how many times I try and tell Christians I don't hate Jesus, I just don't believe in him or worship him as a God like they do, I still get accused of Jesus hatred. It's like fighting an uphill battle.

Pangel,
The only thing important is what you yourself believe in your heart !
Even though as christians, we might not agree with religion bashers, they do have a right to believe what they want to. Mind you, some of them don't have to be obnoxious about it !
Everybody has different beliefs and no matter what anyone says or does, this is not about to change.
Peoples beliefs do not necessarily make them a bad person.
Lets just agree to disagree, and tolerate other religions, and love our fellow man.
Open up your heart, and let the light in.

I find it odd, as well.
I also find that (perhaps the same) people cannot talk about politics except in terms of love and hate.
These are pretty extreme emotions to be attributing to others, but it's likely that this says more about the people making the accusations than the people they are accusing.

hi pangel!
i don't think people are asking for answers as much as they are seeking validation when they ask a question in that way. in those instances, it seems they tend to "tune out" any thought that is not a regurgitated version of their own opinion.
to address the part about wanting to think that, i think some people do get off of seeing their beliefs as oppressed - it's like some sick version of special in their minds.

It is part of what Christians are taught in the USA, anyone who contradicts them is called a hater, it is crude propoganda. It is most tiresome particularly when the real hatred I see comes almost exclusively from the followers of the Abrahamic faiths.

I don't get it either.
If we say we don't hate Jesus, why say we do?
It makes no sense.
What they don't like hearing (in my opinion), is that some of us just can't accept that he existed, or that some believe he may have existed, but isn't God. That makes us haters in their opinion and no matter how much we say to the contrary, they'll stick to that opinion like glue.

Have a look at Newberg's "Why We Believe What We Believe."
It might help you understand the biology of belief.

What on earth are you talking about?
The only people who ignore the facts when they are presented to them are simple christian folk.
Try reading Richard Dawkins' excellent book The God Delusion. It will help to educate your mind.
However, be warned! It may be a little too complicated for you simple, religious folk.
PS. 'Dreamer' - I am not trying to be funny! This is deadly serious. People are killed in the world every day in the name of these primitive religions. OPEN YOU EYES!!
