Not fluently. Although it might be possible for a linguistically gifted person to still have a working knowledge of almost that many languages. In order to have a working knowledge of a language, you don't need to know all of the vocabulary just the essential grammar and about 700 to 800 of the most commonly used words and expressions.

I think you can learn to speak 16 different languages as long as they all belong to the same family. For example, If you were to learn romance languages and their dialects you would certainly be able to speak 16 or more because of their similar structure.

People living in Europe that have to travel a lot have to speak different languages. They could travel through 5 or 6 countries in one day. I have met a few tour guides who said that they could speak 10 languages. So, I think that the answer is, "YES!"

It is possible because most languages, at least from what i observe, are similar in some ways. Most french words, for example, are either borrowed from or loaned to english, and french is slightly similar to spanish too. So it is possible, but there might be a great chance of mixing up.

I know six already, and I am learning a seventh and trying to find the time for an eigth, but I probably will not have time for the eigth until summer holidays. And I am still young...perhaps I will learn so many by the time I am 80.
So, yes, I think it is possible.

Sure it is. As long as you use them all often, it shouldn't be a problem to learn that many. My fiance knows 7
