No I don't think it's stretching it. We talk to Jesus just like we talk to a friend, no secrets...I think that's pretty personal.

A promise is a promise.
Anyone who has been faithfully baptized with water, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit enjoys a personal relationship with the Almighty.
Whether we ever come to appreciate that relationship is a whole 'nother story!

Personal, as in your spiritual relationship with Him is different than mine. I believe, you may not, we both have a relationship with Him, whether we work on it or not. Like all relationships, the more you invest of your love, time, faith, trust, etc... the stronger that relationship grows. Neglect it, and it can die, a separation that you decided by your own choices and actions. God is real, whether we want to accept it or not. He does prove Himself as a living God to those who believe, well beyond our expectations and imaginations.

A personal relationship with God - means God is a friend, parent, lover, or something. It is a relationship with you. God cares about you specifically and helps you.
An impersonal relationship with God means one which might be with all the universe or even all humans - but not a relationship with you specifically. Actually, a God that might not care about humans at all. The Tao might be considered an impersonal relationship with the Divine.
Personal God vs. Impersonal God. That is what is meant.

The personal relationship comes in on the fact that we talk to him daily and spend time with him on a daily basis...so it is spiritual...but the amount of time we spend talking to him and listening to him...it is a personal thing

No, it's not. When you accept Christ into youir life your heart and mind are changed by God.
The closest thing to it is like your conscience. Your conscience tells you what is right, wrong and often determines your actions. The presence of God, a personal relationship, is God's spirit living your heart who reveals who he is, and and the meaning and beauty of life in profound, intrinsic ways. I know God exisits because his presence never leaves me - he shows me things as my life unfolds and gives opportunities, experiences and a sense of peace to lead me.
This is how God lives in us - nothing could be more real or alive, or more meaningful.

I believe my relationship with Jesus is personal, because any matter that concerns my faith deals with issues of my heart. And that is very intimate, thus personal.

Well if we know the Spirit of God then we know everything about Him because the spirit is who we really are inside so the Spirit of God is who he really is. If we have a spiritual realationship with God it has to be personal.
