My best friend's daughter just went through emergency surgery to remove the swollen glands on the left side of her neck that were interfering with blood flow, and breathing.
Please seek medical care at once. If you do not need an operation, you at least DO need some heavy duty antibiotics to clear up the infection in your system.

It is most likely swollen glands; but what do you mean you can hardly breathe? If your throat is closing up so hardly any air gets in you need immediate medical attention - get to your local E.R. or call 911.
If you are getting plenty of air, and feel pain on inhale and when swallowing, you probably have tonsillitis or strep throat. Call your primary doctor tomorrow, and in the meantime take a pain reliever, gargle with salt-water, and perhaps some decongestants if you have post-nasal drip that's aggravating the condition.

This could simply be a swollen gland, there are many in the jawline and neck and behind the ears. They can swell and become painful for many reasons, not the least of which is the common cold, which may be another reason why you are having breathing difficulties. Go see a doctor. When you feel this bad, don't waste time on Y. answers, go see your physician and feel better soon!

If you are having trouble breathing then get off the computer and go to the hospital. It could be just a swollen gland and your anxiety is causing you to hyperventilate and feel short of breath, take a deep breath in through the nose, (deep), and slowly blow out through the mouth, relax. If you just noticed it and it's painful then it's probably not anything serious. Call your Dr. and get checked out, answers from him will make you feel better.

i know this one well the spine in your neck is out of place almost sure of this as i have the same problem time to time,, and i visit the chiropractor it really feels like a lump in the throat, and it puts pressure in the chest maybe this can help try sretching and massaging the area, its difficult to do it yourself though it probably needs to be popped back in to place ,,, this might be a solution

better buy some red bull for the time being and go see your doctor. They have shots that can take care of that in 20 minutes. but, if you dont take care of it, you are going to have a hard time.

It's a gland that is swollen or your tonsils if you still have them. Go and see a doctor.
