People tend to hate things that make them feel uncomfortable. Light exposes things hidden and that does not feel good.

Good God, child. No one hates Jesus. The non-religious simply do not believe he was the son of God. Do you honestly believe that your Christian God would find it OK that you are using a tool of propaganda called "false wording" to get your point across? If you disagree with those who are not religious, that's fine, but to go around spreading some idea that they "hate Jesus" is simply ignorant. Please listen to others before you condemn them.

To Tebone031, Bammafan and the like: Did you ever stop to think that people who don't believe in your god are accountable for their actions out of a moral and humane sense that goes beyond believing in the reward & punishment system of a god? Disbelief is not immorality. Taking responsibility because one actually feels badly or understands they've hurt another has absolutely nothing to do with being a Christian. This idea of "immorality" you propagate is no more than something to make yourselves feel good about. Disbelief is not hate. It is followers like the two of you, KareBear, Opinionated, and a number of others that perpetuate ignorance and animosity. The Bible (which I'm quite sure NONE of you have read) is not a moral compass by any means - it condemns women, children, non-believers and urges killing and the sacrifice of one's own family. If it had been written when Jesus was around, I doubt he would have followed it either. You give Christianity a bad name.

I don't hate Jesus. I just don't see why you and your comrades want everyone to feel personally responsible for the man's death when it happened over 2000 years ago. What's with trying to guilt trip people into your religion?

And no offense, but I do not want to go and be with Jesus when I die, I'm not a Christian. I'd much rather go and be with my ancestors and my Gods in the afterlife.

for most of those who you think hate him, it's not an actual hatred of the person who lived 2000 years ago, it's a hatred of jesus as used by fanatics trying to stuff him down people's throats or repeating the same thing over and over and over again. i respect the right to believe, but not the right to be intolerably imposing.
the whole thing is that when followers of jesus say jesus they mean the 2000 year old one, but when someone says they hate him it's usually in reference to the repetition of statements like "accept jesus to go to heaven" etc, not so much to the person.

I don't hate Jesus. I don't believe he was everything that Christians make him out to be, but I don't hate him.

And I don't hate Christians or The Church, either... I dislike the idea that if I merely think that Jesus was a good person and he meant that he was the Son of God in the sense of "...and so are you, and so are you, and so are you..." that I'm going to hell. And I dislike people trying to convert me from my beliefs... sharing viewpoints is fine, discussing beliefs is fine, but when you start judging... now who was it that said "judge not, let ye be judged yourself"?

I can't imagine hating Jesus, or anyone else for that matter. What a silly waste of energy hating is!

i dont thin anyone hates jesus. although i a muslim, i love jesus cos he's my prophet. although we dont necesarily beleive he gave up his life, personally i choose to believe he is still alive up there.

some people pretend they hate him because he makes them feel guilty, and they are not willing to change themselves, so they seek hatered as an excuse. because seriously, how could u hate someone u dont beleive in, unless u believe in him and ur not following, then it means ur hating urself and not him. otherwise ust be neutral or love him like the rest of the world.

He was just yet another fraudulent cult leader out to make a quick buck. Not worth hating anymore than his modern followers David Koresh, Benny Hinn, Jim Jones, or Charles Manson.

When Jesus says in Luke 19:27 : "But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence."

Or when he orders his gang members to steal him a donkey in Luke 19:29-35.

Or when he throws a temper tantrum and kills a fig tree that doesn't belong to him when a fig didn't have any figs on it.

Or how about when he kills a child in The Infancy Gospel of Thomas because the child bumped into him.

Or when he tells his followers to hate their families.

These are not the behaviors of one to be admired.

Of course nobody is supposed to actually read these sections of scripture and like most of the bible the stories are likely made up anyway, but they clearly show that the fictional character Jesus was unable to control his temper. There is no reason to think that if the bible character was loosely based on a real character that his behavior was any better.

I don't know of anyone who actually hates Jesus, some people just don't believe in him. And any idiot knows there's no point in hating something you don't believe in.

Oh for pete's sake grow up!

The only people who still believe in this mumbo jumbo are either mentally ill or just plain stupid.

Try reading Richard Dawkins' excellent book The God Delusion. It is to the 21st century what the bible was to the dark ages!

I dont hate Jesus. I think he was a great teacher. I just think the people (church) perverted his message and now the church teaches what the church wants, not what Jesus wanted.
