I have 2 daughter one is 8 and the other is 6 months old. I have a sign on the back on my window saying "kids on board" In the past week I was almost hit 3 times on the highway from people drivning too close to my car and then cutting me off. I always do the speed limit and i stay in the proper lane, mostly slow lane when my girls are in the car. I am a good driver but I cant stand when people drive so close to me in the winter time especially when i have a sign on the back of my window.
When they drive so close they race out of the lane pass me and cutt me off, it scares me so much becasue breaking will only make my car slid in the snow. Do people not care that they can cause an accident and cause serious damage?
I dont know what I am doing wrong, how can i stop it! Should I get a bigger sign???......lol

No, you should tape the "kids on board" sign to your steering wheel to remind YOURSELF of your precious cargo.

If you remain truly alert behind the wheel, you will seldom encounter those situations. (Hint: If YOU are skidding on the snow, YOU are diving too fast!)

I used to think that I was being singled out by every cretin on the road and I tended to assert my right of way. A good defensive driving course changed my perspective markedly. I learned how to be aware of potential hazards BEFORE they became problematic and avoid the conflict altogether.

It's AMAZING how much other driver's skills seem to improve when YOU improve yours.

Bad drivers are bad drivers regardless what you are going to hang on your windows. Not much you can do, just drive responsibly and if someone is that eager to get around you just let them by. Slow down a little when they are by your side so this way if they cut in on you, you will have more room and don't make eye contact with them. This is why my wife won't drive even though she is licensed.
Good Luck and stay safe.

Perhaps you are more aware of the problem drivers while your children are on board.
People are in a hurry all the time, they dont care about your sign, the only sign they wanna see is how they can get where they're going at the fastest rate.

i don't mean to be rude, but no sign is going to be big enough for A** Holes to stop cutting you off, the best way is to go with the traffic, unless thier out of control. everybody has some kind of road rage in them. but you can't stop how people drive. I'm sorry.

It's not just you honey, It happens to everyone. We just have to face the fact that there are a lot of careless drivers out there. And do our best to be aware of our surroundings. I have a 16yr old, who has her temps, about to attend driving school, and I am worried to death already, because of the situations that I face daily. All we can do is be careful, they are probably driving to fast to read your signs...lol.
