It is always best when the dvd player is of the same brand as the tv-set, for even if the dvd player is compatible with any tv-set, it is always most compatible with a tv set of same brand as there are some of its particular functions which are best interfaced in products from the same manufacturer. I say this because I have a couple of dvd players of different brands where the functions (for obvious trademark reasons?) are differently organized. Then if you may want to purchase a Magnavox or an RCA dvd, they should as far as possible be of the upper-end type if you want upper-end quality.

they are both good. which ever model has the features you want in the price you like, it will bw thw best one for you. ony one thing toi consider: most dvd players have a remote that can also run your tv. you will have the best results if your tv, dvd, home theater and stereo are all the same brand. then most of the remotes will most likely have a similar design, making it easier to jump from device to device.
