I just heard a interview w/ Chuck 'The Iceman' Liddel that he wants to fight both Wanderlei Silva & Mirko Cro Cop. I think both bouts would be good, but right now he probably can only fight Cro Cop. They have similiar styles & I think it would be a good one for the ages. I must go w/ Cro Cop. Interested to what you MMA Fans have to say about this one.

"Cro Cop got KNOCKED OUT by Michael McDonald, who is a very good striker/puncher as well"

Ok, for the love of god, do not listen to this person. "Michael McDonald has fought 1 fight, and lost it to Ryoto Machida in K-1. He has never fought Mirko, and if he did he would be beaten to a bloody pulp.

Here's the proof...

That's Mirko's professional record for anyone who's interested. He's never fought Michael McDonald and you statement is just obviously false.

Not only this, but Mirko would serve up Liddell his first loss in 3 years if he were to fight him at present day. Mirko has a better game in every facet of the sport. He's larger, stronger, a more accurate and harder striker (both with kicks and punches), and he's got experience fighting more skilled fighters from a larger variety of backgrounds. Truthfully, Liddell has never fought someone of equal striking power, which of course is to his credit, but in this case he'll be trumped.

Am I saying Chuck hasn't proven himself? No. But I am most certainly saying that he hasn't got the experience Mirko does, and he's going to find out the hard way.

Cro Cop would win just simply because Liddell is nothing more than a brawler who throws his punches from his hips while Mirko uses core punching & technique in his fights. Plus I'm not sold on Liddell calling out Wanderlei since Dana White seemed to duck the Silva/Liddell fight even after Wanderlei waited his required 3 month lay-off after his loss to ironically Cro Cop according to the Nevada Atheletic State Commission.

Jayrob ~
In my opinion, Liddel is a fighter that swings for the fences, he overall punching power has gotten him to where he is today, but Cro Cop, he can punch just as hard as Chuck, but his kicks, especially his left leg is out of this world.

Cro Cop kicked Wanderlei so many times to his ribs, Silvas corner wanted to stop the fight because his ribs looked like raw meat. Frank Shamrock did fear much better. Cro Cops has a all around better game.

Chuck stays outside within punching distance, so he can load up with big shots, he's nearly impossible to take down because he creates distance. This will be his downfall against Cro Cop, no matter how much distance he creates he still in striking distance of Cro Cops legs.

Cro Cop stops Liddel in the second round. Thanks the question Jayrob.

Too many long answers! Here it is simple.

Chuck is one of the greatest punchers of all time.

Cro Cop got KNOCKED OUT by Michael McDonald, who is a very good striker/puncher as well.

Cro Cop looked sloppy against a tub of lard in the last UFC.

Chuck blew out Tito in his last fight.

Now, like a Mike Tyson prayer, Cro Cop could always land a high leg kick, but the chances are slim.

Chuck wins, period.

As for fighting Silva, Dana white pulled the plugs on all talks of that event after Silva was beaten by Cro Cop. Won't be happening ANY time soon.

Also, the fight in the works is against NEITHER opponent mentioned. The UFC is planning to have Chuck fight Quinton "rampage" Jackson at UFC 71 (yes, they plan that far ahead). The set up process started in the most recent pay per view.

If something happens to Jackson (unforseen loss) then Cro Cop will become the challenger (that's why they brought them BOTH in the same night).

They have very similar style really, both are sprawl and brawlers. Both have knock out power in both hands and liddell can kick, probably not with the speed and power of CroCop. This would be a REALY crazy fight, a war of attrition leading to a highlight KO.

I'd say Mirko wins, but in a bout like this it could go either way.

I can see this happening: Mirko holding back on high kicks all night, standing in the pocket, trhowing down with Chuck. Chuck always wearing about that kick keeping his right arm high. Chuck punished with body shots, downstairs upstairs, Mirko picks him apart. Chuck step back to his left and BOOM Mirko unloads with that kick.

Jayrob, I already answered a question similar to this one awhile ago, but here's my opinion once again.
Chuck Liddell is without question an excellent fighter and I mean no disrespect with this statement, but in my opinion he can absolutely not be compared to Mirko in almost any aspect of MMA. Mirko is younger, bigger, stronger, faster, more powerful, more athletical, a lot more technical, his boxing skills are significantly more advanced, his kicking is (as we all know) by far the best in this sport and his jiu jitsu skills and overall ground game are at this moment at considerably higher level then Chuck's as well. The only advantage that Liddell could possibly have over Mirko are his wrestling skills in my opinion, but basically to me he just seems like a smaller, weaker version of this man.
Chuck would have almost no chance in this match and I think that Mirko would pick him apart with hard and precise shots and finish him off inside five minutes just like he did Silva in their last fight.

addition
Just one information for Santana D. There was no corner stoppage in either one of Mirko's fights with Silva man. Mirko was crushing him with middle kicks the first time but Silva went the distance non the less and it was a draw, and second time was a massacre, a five minute beatdown and Mirko stopped it with a left high kick.

I think Chuch would loose to both. Cro Cop is in a different weight class, so I wonder if Chuck plans move up or Cro Cop to loose weight.

Right now I'd take Machida. Machida would come in at 220 and Mirko is only 230 or so. Cro Cop has fought gives with similar styles in K1, but Machida has a black belt in BJJ.

Liddell wants this fight. It will have to be at Heavyweight though, and i dont see Liddell beating one of the best strikers and fighters in all of MMA.

Cro Cop wins by TKO/KO. Liddell needs to stick to fighting grapplers!

Cro Cop would be too much for Lidell. Cro is one of the finest strikers with his feet in the world.
