I need help from anyone who actually knows the language. I used a free translation service I found online and it gave me this: אח
(if you can't see the characters, it's the "khet" followed by the "alef")
So, my question is, is this a correct translation, and if not, what is the word I'm looking for? Thank you in advance!

The word you're looking for is "ach" (with a German-like "ch" consonant). It is actually spelled Alef Chet, as Hebrew is written from right to left.
Its different usages are similar to its English equivalent, "brother".

Other words that are derived from this word:
achot [אחות]: "sister"
achva [אחווה]: "brethren", "brotherhood"
achi [אחי]: "my brother", also functions as a slang equivalent to "mate", or "dude".

Yes that is the correct translation.

It spells out "akh" sometimes written like "ach".
It's pronounced like you're clearing your throat.
The plural would be "achim" (brothers).

Just so you know-
Hebrew is read from right to left so it would be aleph followed by chet not the other way around

hope this helps
