Exercises for the fingers and joints are always recommended for people with arthritis. Therefore, lifting weights continuously provides grasping and releasing of the grips, which provides exercise for the fingers.
Popping and crackling of the joints has nothing to do with arthritis.

Lifting heavy weights can't be doing your arthritic joints any good. The aches and pains you will wind up suffering will only serve to get in the way of your exercise program.
Your best bet is to use relatively light weights and do a lot of reps each set--this way you will be giving your muscles a decent workout without putting excessive pressure on your joints.

depends on what you feed your system with to help keep the joints supple. I work out three to four times a week, I am 40 years old so I use something called joint support to help me keep my joints nice and free. It has certainly improved my shoulders and knees in particular. Try myhealthabcmall.com and look them up, they are all natural and have helped me to keep training and do other stuff as well. Good luck.

If the joints are not paining, it is probably OK, but check with your doctor. Exercise which doesn't hurt is good.
