Hi,
I have an 11 month old jack russell and she is great. Some are sweet and some are more aggressive. Mine is sweet in the sense that she will follow me everywhere and when she is tired she loves to cuddle up and sleep practically on top of me. She is extremely loyal and smart. At the dog park, she goes up to all the dogs and people and is wagging her tail the entire day However, most of the time they are so energetic. They are not the type of dog you can come over to and hug and pet like you would a big dog. You have to really wear them out for them to even sit still. Mine is much more interested in me playing with her than she is too have me pet her. However, she is one of the best dogs I have ever had. Just be prepared, they are really cute as puppies but they can be terrors.

They are and they aren't.
I must admit, I'm more of a cat person. But I've lived in a house with a Jack Russell once.
They're sweet in the sense that they're little and scamper around, which is nice.
But they are a little bit nippy, can be vicious sometimes too. I found them just a little bit tightly wound, that's all.
If you don't mind a dog that's a bit unpredictable, then yes, i'm sure they're lovely!

I have one that we rescued from the dog pound two weeks ago. He is very bright, energetic yet not hyper, completely house trained and very affectionate. Better yet he never barks. So yes, they can be very sweet. But they can be completely stubborn and "yappy" as friends of ours also have Jacks. It depends on their genes and their training. If you get a good one, they are terrific. (The sweetest breed in my opinion remains the Basset. We have four and they are the best dogs I've ever owned or fostered.)

They can be sweet but more often they are stubborn and can be aggressive. They are little dogs that think they are big dogs and often get in trouble because of it. They were bred to catch rats so all of those traits are bred into them which along with their intelligence makes them a bit of a handful sometimes.
