"Father take this cup of suffering away from me" sounds like Jesus was afraid of pain and suffering.

Because He was also human.

He didn't. Yet he knew what was coming and that the pain and torturous suffering would be intense- (to say the least) and that He had to go through that for our sake as the ultimate sacrificial Lamb. He also knew that for awhile the Father's Holy Spirit would have to forsake him in order for the sacrifice to be valid and complete. Good question. If you ever read the bible; you will find it is interesting because it predicts Everything that happens and it comes from Holy Spirit- inspired Force- not other false teachings or predictions that come from evil. Peace be with you, sweetie!

When the son of God came to this earth in human form, he would have inherited all the human physical and emotional traits that go with being a mortal man. Physical suffering would have been one of them. But as The Son of God, he knew the conseqences of taking on all human suffering. He knew the inevitable pain that would come and he still went through it for the sake of creation.

Hebrews 5:15 "for we have not a high priest (Jesus) which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities: but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin."

Jesus did not fear pain and suffering - Jesus feared being separated from the Father momentarily so He could take on all the sins and diseases and afflictions of the world. That cup that he was sweating blood about in Gethsemene was your sins and my sins, your disease and my disease and your afflictions and my afflictions and those of all the people whoever lived and are living. Think About It - painful cancers, anxiety and asthma attacks, murders, sexual addictions, amputations and all horrors of any kind. All of this sin was in that cup that He had to endure so we could have eternal life. Only an emptied God as Jesus Christ in flesh could drink that cup. Pain and suffering is caused by sin. Oh, yes - Jesus Christ is God.

He was also a human being, with nerve endings and everything.
I don't know about you, but I get nervous when I have to go to the dentist - and that is with full awareness that the dentist is there to help me. Just because you look foward to a good outcome does not mean that you will not fear the ordeal. That is particularly true in the case of a Roman crucifixion.

He was fully human, by choice. I don't think that He had a fear of pain and suffering, He knew that He was taking on the sins of humanity and it was a horrible evil thing and more painful to Him than anything ever suffered by a human.

Remember that the Bible tells us that He set aside his divinity for " a little while". By choice.

--Good point, indeed Christ did experience those things. WHY IN THE WORLD would Jehovah God have to demean himself and at the same time live up to being the God of the universe--IT DOES NOT make any sense.

--Whose ever idea it was for Christ to offer himself as the ultimate sacrifice for mankind to return to his perfect stature as Adam once had, the Bible does not say.

--One thing is very clear, Christ never even hinted of having any objection to the ransome arrangement.

--Jesus had, has,and always will have the utmost respect for his "God ....&.....Father" (John 20)

Jesus is the son of God, not God. Jesus is perfect and does not have a fair of pain and suffering, but since he came to earth, as a perfect man, he understands our pain and suffering. he is like his Father Jehovah

Jesus didn't come to the world to babysit us and be our wet nurses. Jesus never promised us a free ride or a meal ticket.

Instead, he gave us two very important means of understanding and enduring the hardships of the world. The first was his teaching. The second was his life and death, through which he dramatized and embodied what he taught.
