wen i walk up and down the stairs my knee makes a sound as if the two bones are rubbiong together ewww i asked my dad and he said he had that for a while but i am not so sure because it has done this for about 4 months wat should i do

It sounds like the cartilidge behind your knee cap is deteriorating.Not much doctors will do about it until you get a lot older.My right knee has been doing it for tears and sometimes it hurts,but for the most part it's just aggravating and embarrasing(when it's loud enough for other people to hear).I seen a doctor about it & he told me that I would probably have to get a knee replacement when I get older.

I m not sure what ur age is bur i guess if u r young this problem means a lot more trouble to u than to ur dad so i guess u run a battery of tests on it after consulting a ORTHOPAEDIC surgeon atleast an X RAY is must. But just OTC drugs wont help and 4 months is a long time
Such sound maybe indicator of reduced SYNOVIAL FLUID which in fact is a lubricant of ur joints so rush to ur DOC

The synovial membrane could be getting thinner or damaged. See a doctor.
