It's "okay" to come out of the closet, but it's still a huge risk in a world that is full of hatred and discrimination no matter what religion or philosophy it comes from. People only use religion as a nice, convenient excuse to bash most of the time.

yes, it is. the liberal churches are wrong, but it's a good thing they are here so gay men and women can be involved in a religious community where they can worship with people who see them as people, not as just gay people. It's too bad that most christians are so stuck on the issue, but the most important thing for gay people to do is live life with integrity and one cannot do that in the darkness. come on out, but please do not make an issue of your homosexuality. don't throw it in our face.

I don't think it is necessary to go around announcing ones sexual bent. I don't introduce my self as "Hi! I'm June, a heterosexual". Just don't think it is necessary.
