Hi Patsy,

Read your question and having had my own restaurant and not being a lover of sweets myself, (I would rather have a ripe Camembert or Brie), I always make a Tiramasu with condensed milk and Tia Maria. (I can forward recipe if desired - pvhb2@btinternet.com). Alternatively, an easy and delicious sweet is the ever popular Syllabub (enriched with a soupcon of brandy) !!

My mother in law makes a scrummy Eves Pudding

Stew apples (but not too sloppy)
Make a sponge topping. When that has cooled make
a thick custard then completly cover the sponge.
When that is nearly set (and still warm) serve it with
double cream. High in fat and calories but it is simply
the best.
Another fav. is Apple Crumble and Custard.

I do like apple crumble with ice cream and chocolate sauce, but, given a choice, i would pick hot chocolate fudge cake with ice cream every single time! It cannot be beaten!

I love home-made sherry trifle!
to make it get
1 packet trifle sponges,
1 tub of fresh or frozen raspberries,
1/4 pint of sherry
1 pint of fresh custard,
1 pint of whipping cream
flaked almonds to decorate

put the raspberries, trifle sponges and sherry in a glass trifle dish and leave covered and in fridge over night.
The next day pour a pint of fresh custard over the top ( I make mine with birds custard powder but you could use trimmed or fresh custard from tesco)
put in fridge for 2 hours
then whip the cram and put on top with flakes almonds to decorate.

Absolutely yummy!!!!

Any kind of fruit crumble although blackberry and apple mixed is my favourite. When you make it, instead of using the normal crumble mix make the mix using oats. Such a wonderful taste.

Definitely cheesecake. However, some girl scout tagalong cookies wouldn't be too bad either. Or a peanut butter pie. I just cannot choose.
