Can you give me any other verses (scriptures) in the Bible that speak about faith, with the exception of Hebrews 11:1 and James.

Ephesians 2:8,9 is a cornerstone of Christianity.

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

I went to Bible Gateway and typed in "faith," and got 422 results.

The whole faith thing came about because christian doctrine is unbelievable.

The early christians found themselves being laughed just the same as modern christians do, so they took their biggest weakness - the fact that their religion makes no sense - and turned it into a strength by saying that the thing god wanted most was not good behaviour, but unquestioning belief. We are still living with the consequences.

2 Peter chapter 1 verse 1 says:

I am writing to all of you who share the same precious faith we have, faith given to us by Jesus Christ, our God and Savior, who makes us right with God.

"Faith Is Believing What You Know Ain't So"
-- Mark Twain

Well it isn't from the Bible, but it is accurate and so inspirational.

Faith cometh by... taking other people's word for it.
