i have noticed a woman I am working with keeps mimicking things i do. for examples

1 when I get a clean hair cut, within the next few days i see she has done her hair in ways I never seen her do before.

2 when i start to wear certain type of clothing (ie checkered) - i notice in the new few days she wears checkered clothing which i never seen her wear

3 i once told her unique people makes me tick, since then she will go out of her way to show me she does unique things (uses the microwave to heat her coffee when one hot water tap is broken, when one would usually use the other taps).

These actions led me to think perhaps she would like to talk - but when I do she tells me she she is busy and already has a partner. I'm not sure where the partner thing came from, but fair enough, i decide to leave her alone but she keeps greeting me and mimicking me and following me at work.

i'm a little confused by this persons actions.

Here's my thought, having been through something similar.... There was a girl at work (I am female, too) who kept imitating me. Once she even commented that she printed out an email I sent her (totally business-related, I assure you) and tacked it up on her cubicle in place of a love letter that her boyfriend sent her! It was very freaky and I thought maybe she was trying to express an (unwelcomed) interest in me... But really it ended up she was just obsessed with the idea of being like me. Maybe this coworker of yours is not sexually interested in you but finds you to be someone she can admire and look up to... and she is trying to be more like you because she doesn't have a strong sense of who she is... Just a thought..

She is a person who has no opinion on things, so she chose you as an example and a role model. She looks at you and thinks: I like this haircut, need to do the same. These clothes look good - I'll start wearing the same style.
And so on.

don't mean to alarm you but i immediately thought of that movie "single white female". hopefully she's not a psycho. there could be a lot of factors but it just sounds like envy to me. is she younger than you? she might have always wanted a big sister. if you feel a strange vibe about her then you should just let it go. if you feel comfortable around her then just have a conversation and see how the vibe is then. go with your first instinct, it's usually the correct one.

There is no worry, it is the habit of some people to race/act like there near fellows. Just ignore it and concentreate on the best values...

She probably is interested in you, and likes your personality. She probably wants you to notice her, so you can be impressed with her. Like when you mentioned unique people make you tick, then she chnaged who she was. She must really be into you thats my ipinion.
