There must be loads of people out there with equestrian questions and unless they put them in the 'Horse Racing' category, which is totally different, or in the 'Pets - general' category, there is nowhere to go. Perhaps the moderators will see this and add a new category specially for those who are desperate for horse-related answers.

Good idea. I emailed yahoo answers about this a while ago, but I never got a reply.

Yes, I agree. Horse racing is the category that all of the horse questions get put into... horse racing is the category that people who know horses will read so we get a lot of questions about horse care and horseback riding. Maybe the horse care questions would be better on the Pets-general category, but I don't think as many horse people check that category, so the questions wouldn't get as many answers. I don't really mind that there's not a separate category... I'm not offended that people ask questions about horse care on the horse racing board... but it would make more sense to have a separate category because it is a separate topic. So, yes, I agree.

I would say that between racing and pets you cover 75% of all horse questions. There only can be so many categories, but I would say for Yahoo UK & Ireland equestrianism is a more valid category than "bull fighting" but internationally perhaps horses are less popular than here.

I new to this, but i was dissapointed seeing that their wasn't a catagory simply for equestrian questions.. i do think it would be a worth while to do. They have Ice Skating etc ( I'm a little involved in that too ) but it dosent even snow in half the places in Australia.. including where i live.. So i really think horses are much more common here. It's really a good idea..

Good idea. I have to come to the horse racing one to answer horse questions and i dont even know like anything about racing. But i do know about horses, so good idea. I like asking horse questions and i like answering horse questions but they are SO hard to find! Hopefully we wont be disappointed! i hope they put in a new category.

As soon as I made an account on here I was annoyed there wasn't a category for this. What if someone wants to ask about horse health, or ask about eventing, or show jumping etc.?

I totaly agree in the horse world there's not just horse racing there are other things. I was thinking that as well!!

It's a good idea, only I would call it something like HORSE SPORTS, to distinguish it from racing.
