My religion came out of another 2000 years ago. My religion has roughly 3900 divisions all claiming to the the right part, 520 divisions in America believe you must be a member of their little group to go to heaven. We believe in God and his son came to earth 2000 years to die for everyone, we haven't had much agreement since then. In fact we fight amoung ourselves nearly over evry single teaching written in our book. We don't agree who the son was (God or a Son of God). Many of our leaders have been convicted of crimes and unethical behavior, Jim Bakker, Jim Swaggert and also many of our leaders and molested children, 100's just in the U.S. We're not really sure of the message the creator has given or the way it was delievered, we disagree on that too. Some of us believe there was a new message in 1800, Joe Smith has a book with a new message, still some of us follow JW part, we just can't agree...WELCOME to OUR MINE FIELD!

BTW, make a mistake & you burn forever
Love, YA!

Oh, if you want to find the truth within our 1000's of groups...just pray for him to lead you to the TRUE part...at least that's what each of our 1000's of groups ALL say. Those groups that believe they and they ALONE have the REAL truth.

see it's all very simple

No thank you. I will stay with Christianity.

PS

First, not all denominations claim to be the only way. Only a tiny fraction say you must be "one of their little group" to go to Heaven. We do not fight over "every little teaching," and the differences we have are in most cases not crucial doctrines pertaining to salvation. Granted there are those among us who fall into sin and some who have broken off and replaced the scriptures or adjusted and appended them to suit what the majority of the church see as heresey (Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses). But for the most part, we agree that God came to earth as Jesus Christ and paid for our sin and offers us the free gift of eternal life by His grace through faith. We all make mistakes and all of us are aware of that and we rejoice that we are not judged by our own righteousness, but by that of our Lord Jesus Christ. You have inadequately described a tiny little piece of the visible church in America, omitted volumes of charity, resuce and relief work done at great personal sacrifice by Christians throughout the world and not offered one sound reason for rejecting God's free gift of eternal life. The church is made of imperfect people and of course errors will be made. So you should take comfort in knowing that if God saves people like the ones you so despise (providing they have indeed repented of their sin and received His pardon by faith), that someone like you would be a shoe in. All have sinned and fall short. Me, you, everybody. But God demonstrated His love for us by sending His own Son to die for us while were yet His enemies. And Jesus laid His life down willingly. He was not forced. It's a free gift. Just ask!

I went to a Catholic college, so we had to take faith all 4 years, yet we had a call interior the eleventh grade to take the two Catholic faith or international religions. I chosen international religions, and that i could say that I enjoyed it. oftentimes, i did no longer discover faith type very exciting, yet I enjoyed discovering approximately international religions. It became into an incredible and intensely intersting direction and that i could take it back. And for the checklist, i'm no longer very non secular myself, and we did no longer have any debtates or any "Catholicism/Buddhism/Hinduism/and so on. is the acceptable suited/incorrect faith and each physique else is going to hell" discussions. It became into basically an relatively informative direction and that i even have been given lots out of it. So in the journey that your college is offering a international religions direction, i could recommend which you're taking it.

gods do not exist, gods are nothing more than abstract primitive thoughts.
early in mans history, mankinds not-so-evolved brain could not process alot of things it witnessed, when this primitive man seen things he could not understand, it was waved away as an act of the gods. eventually this superstition led to shamans, and 'holy-men' being put into a position of power for each individual tribe or culture.
these 'holy-men' learned thier value, and kept up the whole deity charade to maintain thier elevated position within thier culture.
these religous charlatains have used superstition, and fear of the unknown as leverage against the masses throughout mankinds existance.
The Human race is an ever evolving spieces, And we are on the brink of another MAJOR evolutionary change, this next step our race takes on the evolutionary ladder will happen when we finally discard the old primitive thought process, and discard the gods.
One day real soon people will begin to realize that they are being scammed by false Holy-Men and the high pedestal we have put them all on will come crashing down.
Why should Man worship and praise petty, non-existant gods, when it is Man that are the gods?
we are the most evolved speices on the planet, and yet we still hang on to the old primitive beliefs.

THERE IS NO GOD, ONLY WEALTHY PRIESTS

Those who reject (Truth), among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, were not going to depart (from their ways) until there should come to them Clear Evidence,
An apostle from God, rehearsing scriptures kept pure and holy:
Wherein are laws (or decrees) right and straight.
Nor did the People of the Book make schisms, until after there came to them Clear Evidence.
And they have been commanded no more than this: to worship God, offering Him sincere devotion, being True (in faith); to establish regular Prayer; and to practise regular Charity; and that is the Religion right and straight.

That sounds just like my religion -
Except that my religion has been in almost complete union for the last 2000 years, and defines itself according to similarity of characteristics (like every other category on earth).

And don't forget your anti-gay preachers, who love to stand in the pulpit and condemn people, and then later sneak off to have some private fun (such as Reverend Ted Haggard when he goes to a drug-induced sex scene, and then lies about all of it). Or, this anti-gay Southern Baptist "Executive Committee" preacher (Reverend Lonnie Latham), who preaches against gays, and then sneaks off to hire an undercover police officer for sex:

I was a member of your religion for several years, in my teens. I then woke up and realized that "God" is much wiser, kinder and more beautiful than the way "God" is described in holy books. The bible and koran degrade "God".
