Many times both series run at the same tracks, so they can use alot of the data they get in a Busch car and use that data in their Nextel cars.
You are right about it taking chances from the younger drivers.
And some just do it for the money

I don't agree with Nextel drivers being allowed in Busch, it doesn't allow the younger guys to get experience. If they are going to let Nextel guys race in Busch there should be a 4 or 5 race limit or some type of rule like that. But I guess they do it for the money..

how do you keep them from competing in the series? the series is open to ANYONE that can prove they have the experience necessary to be able to go out there and safely be competitive.
for instance, look at montoya. he has almost no experience in stock cars yet the sanctioning body feels he can compete safely (and i agree).
Fortunately the rules work both ways. It is not necessarily talent that determines what series a driver can be successful in.... or even compete in... it is MONEY.
If a Busch series driver or a Craftsman Truck driver decides he wants to run nextel cup there is nothing stopping him from moving up. the only limitation is MONEY. there are even organizations that will rent you anything from a competitive engine to an entire race team complete with back up car and pit crew.
there are also quite a few Busch races..... at least the last time a checked a few years ago... that do not have a full field of cars. Nextel Cup drivers sell tickets and fill the seats. Races with Cup drivers competing get better television ratings. better television ratings are good for the sponsors of every team, not just the top few elite teams.

I don't think it is fair either. The Busch series is like the minor league to nextel cup series so it isn't that fair. The only reason they race in both is cause they are on the same track so in the busch they can try things with the car for the nextel race and get valuable information from it.

It comes down to two things
1 - The Nextel Cup is only limited to 6 tests per year. Some of the Nextel Cup drivers need "seat time" and what better way to give them "seat race" then in the Busch Series
2 - They would like to have more people in the seats in the Busch Series and what is the best way. Get some Nextel Cup drivers!

I think the Cup guys do it because you can't get too much "seat time" at a track and I also think it is good for the Busch guys. They are all aiming for the Cup series and they learn more by racing the more experienced and better drivers. Think what happens when a Busch guy does win a race against a track full of Cup drivers...Isn't he picked up for that series really fast?
I'm for it.

Money,owners greed..............
One artical said fans can not get enough of their favorite drivers so the owners put them in Busch cars, and NASCAR condones this because more fans are buying tickets so they,NASCAR,are making more money.
And the Busch cars are somewhat closer to cup cars now than they were 5 or 10 years ago so the drivers get some basic information from the Busch race that they can use on the cup side.
I think it sucks because there are some very good young drivers can not quailify for the Busch race and end up on the ARCA or Hooters Cup racing.
Bottom line Greed!

There are several factors. The drivers like to race, the sponsors want someone in the car who can drive and the fans like, NASCAR cut back on the tracks teams can practice on so I feel this is practice, lastly it all comes down to $$$$$$.

All about the money. Some of the drivers want more money, car owners want a better chance at winning, NASCAR wants more people to watch, sponsers want the big name drivers. Everyone just wants more of the cash pie.
