Did they believe that their repent and good work cannot be accepted unless someone die on the cross?

Did they believe that man is going to hell by "default" and they were waiting for some one to change this?

If not then why call Jesus a gift & why call his message "god news"?

Is it good news to know that you and your ancestors were deceived by God for thousands of years?

Eze 18:21 "But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

I mean savior as defined by Christians: save them from hell.

Jews are waiting for messiah who return them to Jerusalem and establish an earthy kingdom.

they were expecting some kind of saviour, but the one they wanted was a king that would release them from the Roman bondage

Okay...they did not know at all that their Messiah would be dying at all let alone on a cross. Now if you look at the 4 Gospels, you will see in each one somewhere (but mostly in Luke and John for this part of the story of Jesus) that the Jews were ecstatic and really thought he was it...at least a lot of them did. But you see, they thought he was gonna free them from the oppressive Roman Government and be a Fighter kind of King...not a peaceful one who would die. Jesus will not do that until he comes back for the second time. God has not deceived anyone. Ezekiel is talking about a future prophesy where if you truly repent, ask God for forgiveness, accept that it was Jesus the actual Christ(Messiah) that died on the cross...actually the Son of God, then no, you will not "die". But...what that means is that those "saved" will not suffer the "Second Death" or the Great White Throne Judgement...where you get sent to Hell. See?

Not to sure about your thinking process how do you figure God Deceived anyone?
The Jewish people believe a savior will come. They believed he'd come as himself or take the human form of an adult. Not born as a human child and raised as a lowly person.
As far as dieing on the cross that was the Romans way of execution, but he hadn't broken Roman law it was the Jewish hierarchy that pushed the Governor into it by riling the people up and threatening a revolt because they didn't want blood on their hands.
All people are supposedly born with natural sin. The product of Eve being enticed by the serpent to eat the fruit and then she tricked Adam into eating it.
Eze 18:21 Without opening my Bible to double check what you have written is just saying that if someone truly regrets what they've done and turns to God for forgiveness and from then out lives by Gods law they shall live on in the land of God and not burn in Hell like the terrorist that crashed the planes into the pentagon and the towers.
It's also a belief that Judaism is the original religion and almost all religions are an offshoot of it because beliefs diverge and people think differently, like Muslim and Christianity but they both still have their beginnings in the Tora. We are the people of the Book.

Jews are awaiting the Moshiach to arrive and set up an earthly kingdom.. to answer both the first and second questions, they did not believe in hell as portrayed by the christians nor did/do they believe that they are the only ones destined for heaven or paradise. They did not believe that one person had to die in order for all of them to go anywhere.

Jesus is not called a gift nor is his message good news to the jewish people.. you are correct in that it would have been just like that.. to believe in him calls their god a liar, as he said the Torah was a covenant between them throughout all their generations.

Also Amos 3:7 says that "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets."

The prophets were never told that god would become a man and would die for their sins.

The prophets were never told that the Torah would be "fulfilled" by one man and then they didn't have to follow it anymore.

There is no prophecy in a "second coming"

Again, this would make their god a liar. Now perhaps people can have a better understanding of why the jews did not (and rightly so) accept this doctrine of Jesus as their Messiah. (he also did not fulfill the prophecies of the messiah)

First century Jews believed a messiah was about the come, and that the end of the world was near. Their political sphere was is complete disarray because of the Romans. There were many people claiming to be a messiah. There were a lot of cults. In the first century Jewish mindset, the messiah was going to be a great general who was going to kick the Romans out of Judea. No where in the traditional Jewish belief says the messiah will be of virgin birth or die on a cross.
Judaism does not believe in hell; that's a Christian belief.

That depends on which "sect" of the Jews the person belonged to. There were (and are) several branches of the Jewish religion by 0 AD At the Time of Jesus' ministry (his last 3 years living in the flesh on earth) the 2 primary divisions (sects) of the Jews were the Pharisees and the Sadducee's. One believed in an afterlife and resurrection. the other group believed essentially that when life on earth ended you became nothing. Both the Pharisees and Sadducee's expected the Messiah to be an earthly ruler, to bring the Jewish people into world dominance. They did not expect "The Christ" or perfect sacrifice for all sins who was establishing a kingdom in heaven. Some have since accepted Jesus as Messiah and Christ. These are the Messianic Jews (and they spell Jesus' name using the transliteration of His Hebrew name.... which is probably more correct than the practice of most "protestants" and "Catholics".)

you do not need an answer you already know.
but the Jew's do not believe in Christ simply because it would be like saying yes we killed him, yes we put him on the cross,
because that is what happened The Jew's were in power 2007 years ago and only they had the authority to crucify, so do you think that they will admit to crucifying the son of god,
the answer to your original QUESTION is yes and still are Christian's are waiting for the second coming, read your bible some more on the end days, and see if it doesn't apply to soon incurable diseases pestilence more knowledge then ever before.
etc etc

You asked this question a few hours ago.

The Jewish people were promised a saviour who would become their Messiah (conquering king).

Look at all the prophesies given in the Old Testament starting in the Book of Genesis. In Genesis God promised One who would defeat Satan. In many other books He promised a saviour.

You know that they were not waiting for a spiritual saviour because they did not want one, they were waiting for a physical Messiah who would lead them to Jerusalem and reign over them there because that is what they wanted so that was all they could see.

They are still waiting.

Yes, they were waiting. That's why so many of them recognized Jesus as the Messiah. The ones who didn't went back to waiting.

They are still waiting today. But there are Messianic Jews who do believe that Jesus is the Savior.

Isaiah 9 & 11 told the Jews of Jesus' day that Jesus was coming.
John the Baptist cried out to them that He was coming.

The Jews were looking for a Messiah that would rule and reign with total authority and they ignored Isaiah 53.

A few did recognize Jesus as Lord and Savior along with the disciples. Jesus taught of hell while He walked the earth.

All the animal sacrifices of blood came to an end when Jesus' blood was shed once and for all for the sins of all mankind. Jesus was the sinless unblemished Lamb of God sacrificed on the cross and arose to be at the right hand of God.

Ezekiel 18:21 could not be kept - all men broke the commandments and fell short of the glory of God - So God sent his Son Jesus Christ to take away the sins of the world and have victory over Satan and triumph over the devil. Jesus did that on the cross of Calvary. John the Baptist said, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world." That sacrificial Lamb was Jesus Christ a sinless, unblemished sacrifice who shed His blood once and for all so we could gain back eternal life with our God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

In Isaiah it tells us that it pleased God to bruise Jesus for our sins so we could be ransomed back to Him and the devil defeated and conquered.

Apostle John wrote in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes on Him shall have everlasting life." God gave Jesus as a gift to mankind.

The "good news" is that all you need to do is believe in Jesus and you shall be saved and receive eternal life hereafter.

Honestly, I really can't answer all those questions for I don't know the story in and out but about your last question, don't look at it that way. I pray that the Lord will open your eyes to this matter that He is abounding in love. Why don't you put yourself in the Father's shoes, don't you think it was hard for Him to give His only Son to die on the cross? It was not a instant death but a slow and painful death, even with the scorns of other people. The Lord Jesus Christ gave it all for us. All of us were on His mind when He was climbing that hill with that heavy cross on His back, with that crown of thorns piercing His head while He was being whipped to death.
