If you are being given medication, it probably is anxiety, but managing that anxiety is the hard part. You can try deep breathing, talking to your parents about the amount of work you have to do, because wow your schedule is busy. I think I would have anxiety as well.

I wish I could tell you more. Do you tic when you are not having anxiety, because if you tic a little when you are not, you may have tourettes syndrome which is a nuerological dissorder, but only a doctor can determine that.

My son has tics and I know it gets on his nerves a lot when he is ticking, so I feel for you, but we have yet to discover what might help him calm down. Boys are more likely to tic than girls, but it is not limited to them.

I am sorry this is happening, and I hope someone is able to give you a better answer. Also I suggest having your parents join an on line group cal CW_TS The letters stand for Children With Tourettes syndrome. You may not have tourettes, but they may be able to give you some pointers on your anxiety problem.

Hey Alex,
Well, I think you're right..this is caused by anxiety. Given that you realize that you may be able to manage it in a more comfortable way. I think an important thing to remember is that No matter how fast things are flying through your head, you can only do one thing at a time. Also, did you know that we pick and chose what we think about? Why not chose to think about something else? Try it. What do you enjoy doing..do you have a favorite band or hobby? Redirect your mind if you can to something else. When you tic, it's your mind's way of pulling you in another direction. When you feel nervous or like you don't have control over something like a test the following day or having to read Hebrew... take a deep breath and tell yourself... i have no control over this and thats okay. When you get overwhelmed w/homework, take one book at a time. Put the other books somewhere else until you're ready to use them. When you're ready to go to bed, tell your mom you're tired and you are going to sleep. There is a time for studying and a time for going to sleep. It's very important to get your rest...just as important as a healthy diet and studying and all that good stuff.

On another note, if you find that your tics are interfereing w/your life and you simply cannot control them (even tho the reason you are ticking is out of a way to gain control) then, you may need to see a dr and he may be able to prescribe some medication that will help you.

For now, try not to let too much into your mind. Get sleep and stay active in a sport or hobby to keep your mind occupied rather than pre-occupied with worry.

there is a review below mine that implied you have nothing to stress over because you're only 15. (NOT TRUE)

Stress has no age limit. Worry comes in all shapes and sizes...AND ages. But you will be okay as long as you manage it propperly. If you have Tourets a dr can diagnose that and start you on some medication. Alot of people do have it..and the first person you should talk to is your mom. That's more important than getting your homework done.

This could all be caused from stress, which you should have none of, especially at your age. Stress increases your blood pressure, which is not good for you.
It also could be that you have Touret's Syndrome. I have suffered from that since I was a young child, I'm now in my 30's. When I let myself get worked up or stressed out, it comes out in fine form and won't stop. I do not take any medication for it, and won't. For the most part, it doesn't come out to play that often. But, during periods of high anxiety, you can bring it out, unwillingly.
You need to just slow down. There are limits to what you can do. Talk with your parents about it. This probably won't be something that you'll want to do, but it could benefit you.
Bringing attention to Touret's doesn't always work out for the best, if anything, it makes you focus on it and become more aware that it's happening.
I hope the best for you! Destress and enjoy your childhood......it will pass all to quickly!!
=)

Are you absolutely sure it is from anxiety? Some tics can be caused from a lack of magnesium in your diet.

If you take medicine for your anxiety but it is not helping, it's time to see the doctor again. You should also ask to talk to your school counselor. She can give you some really good advice.
