Technically the moon rotates once on it's axis every orbit of the Earth. The Sun rotates on it's axis approximately every 10 hours. The Sun is moving in the galactic plane and is not fixed. Approximate Earth circumference is 25,000. Moon takes the same time as the earth to orbit the sun +/- a bit depending on whereabouts it starts and finishes it's orbit with respect to the Earth. The Earth moves at 95,000 miles an hour and the moon can be 240,000mi ahead or in front of it or anywhere in between i.e. by a couple of hours or so either way.

Yes, it does. It used to spin faster but now because of gravity effects from earth, it slowed down considerably. It now spins on its axis once every time it orbits the earth. Its spin is synchronised with its orbit.
