While watching the news the other evening ,I heard a man talking about being delayed at the airport. He complained about the plane being delayed, this man was quite the smart mouth and had such a nasty attitude because he had to be somewhere on Thursday! He said "how can I get there on Thursday if the service was delayed". For Godness sake The weather was so bad they felt it wasn't safe to fly with the dangerous conditions. How sad that a company cared enough for the LIVES of their customers that they delayed the flight! So what it that man was going to be late,at least he would get to his destination safely!! What a rude world we live in.I for one am so sick and tired of smart azzed people mouthing off because of an inconvience to them.!You can't be sick at your job because they need you their to work, but if you are really sick how can your work performance be of any good?why bring to illness to all the people youi work with? Any good comments will be greatly apprecated.

I agree with you. The pressure of modern life is a factor. I remember once (whilst travelling for work) that I was stuck at the airport for 5 hours due to an equipment malfunction on the plane. I rang my boss, and he was very understanding because he realized there was nothing we could do about it. Unfortunately not all bosses are like that.

There are many comments I could make about modern life and the incredibly high expectations it seems to cause the general public to have. But I do not understand how flying came to be the relaxing spa experience everyone seems to think it is. Air travel is a logistical feat of huge proportions when it goes according to plan; not to mention when something goes wrong. Experienced travelers know exactly what to do in the situation you described and I doubt this gentleman was such a passenger.

We have so many modern conveniences nowadays. People forget how much the world has evolved in the last 100 years. There never used to be planes to fly in. My great-grandparents lived in a small town & great-grandpa walked to work to work in the coal mine. My great-grandma stayed home, had kids & took care of them all day (12). They had an outhouse with a wood stove in it. Grew their own food, and just bought staples like flour. My life is so much easier than all that, and I really appreciate it.

People are self absorbed and single minded, much like young children. As a matter of fact, their selfishness is just their immaturity showing.

As for the "Come to work sick" business model, I suppose it's a choice between hard nosedness, or letting everybody off when they call in sick. It's hard to come to a happy medium on the subject.

it's in the human nature not to be satisfied . because if that certain individual have flown that day and have had an emergency landing to avoid the possibility of a crash , he would have jumped around complaining about the iresponsability of the company allowing the plane to take of in that weather conditions . smart-*** people suck .

Oh, for goodness sakes. Don't you see that by typingthat rant here, you're not responding to that irritated man. You're just causing trouble by passing that feeling along to the people here instead.
It's better just to ignore people like that - to get provoked by their comments is precisely what they want.
