the obvious choice would be on a plane...no idea from where you're flying...can tell you that if you leave from JFK in New York, there is one airline that flies nonstop to Budapest.....
Malev Hungarian Airlines. You can take a US airline, but they're indirect and change planes in other cities...taking a lot longer to get there.

lots of ways. Over a period of 10 years, I personally have entered Hungary through five different methods: plane, train, car, bike, and on foot! none of them were particularly difficult.
