There are 8 planets. And 8 planets only. Pluto has been eradicated from the list because it is now considered as a "Dwarf Planet".
The following planets now comprise the solar system:
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.
12 planets aren't there in our solar system. All that is utter rubbish

There are presently according to the International Astronomical Federation, 8 planets, namely Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Pluto, former planet, is now a 'dwarf planet', along with the recently discovered 'Xena' and the largest asteroid Ceres.
The reason for the removal of Pluto was that it was not big enough to clear the area around its orbit, as Neptune's orbit went over its.
