ok, you know he made aq profit of 50, so total income was 225.00 from the sale (total = cost + profit). so you know he had to have sold 90 of them (2.50 * 90 = 225.00) if he brought home 10% before the sale, and he sold 90, he started out with 100 and took 10 of them home (10%), leaving 90

let the no of mangoes be x
no of mangoes sold=0.9x
selling price=0.9x*2.50
0.9x*2.50-175=50
0.9x*2.50=225
x=225/2.25
=100 mangoes
