Because over the day, as we're up, a certain amount of water is pushed out of the spinal disc centres, and they each get a tiny bit squashed, making a difference of anything up to half an inch over the day!

Because every day you shrink a little bit.

When you are asleep you body can relax and regain it's usual height, when you are awake, however, the opposite is true. Thanks to gravity all the time we spend sitting or standing during the day compresses the discs in our spine ever so slightly. This means that you get slightly shorter. When you lie down to sleep at night the discs have much less pressure on them and can return to normal size.

during the night the muscles between the vertebrae in the spine relax while you are lying down. once you wake up in the morning and start moving around the muscles then contract due to the weight of the upper vertebrae pushing down on them

people are taller in the morning than the afternoon because of temperature change. and the temperature change makes sudden expansion and contraction of the height of a person.. in the morning we experience contraction because of cool temp. while we experience expansion because of hot temp. in the afternoon.

i think you've got that mixed up, you re shorter in the morning, due to sleeping all night all your muscles relax and contract, thus making you, not noticeably, smaller in the morning? as you re body comes round and springs back to life all you re muscles go back to normal fetching you back to normal height?

Are you talking about their shadows? this is because the sun is still rising so their shadow is tall b/c the sun is still close by noon, the sun is way high in the sky so the shadow is shorter.
