Is it possible that DARKNESS is faster then LIGHT .... ?
coz Darkness is always there... EVERYWHERE,
while lights HAS to COME.....
Or should i say.....
Darkness reach every location in space-time before lights.

Chamundi, Darkness is static because scientists think so ..... maybe it's like everyone ONCE believing that the EARTH is SQUARE. Darkness can be dynamic also ...... if we try to understand it with further research by......maybe.....viewing it with a different perspective....

Rebellious, Darkness cannot be heavier than light, coz lights can "PUSH" Darkness away in its EQUAL quantity.

molkisha, if we accept that darkness doesn't travel, then isn't it the same.... like thinking that the EARTH too, is static .....

Riya, It can be so....that, Space itself can propagates Darkness.
Maybe.... Darkness can penetrate anything, unlike lights.
We cannot define speed or velocity for darkness because... maybe we have not yet found out how to, so far.....

Everybody, Please don't be hurt by my arguments.
Controversy is an Art as well as a Science ..... :-) :-)

kumarc, Thanks for reminding me the story.
Mother Goddess Ceres is the goddess of earth.
Jupitar is a god of light and sky.
Proserpina is a life-death-rebirth deity and is their daughter. Her name comes from proserpere meaning to EMERGE.
Pluto, the King of Darkness kidnapped her.
If darkness means only death then how could Pluto exist(life) to become the king of darkness ? How could he kidnap Proserpina... ?
Ur myte ITSELF indicates that Darkness exists in the Negative Unknown Field, and
Darkness is NOT NOTHINGNESS, as we all BELIEVE.....

Hotshot, Some peoples DO get hurts if someone cross them with arguements.
Pessimistic and philosophycal views and Observations are the Main Base which leads to new Inventions and Discoveries, Not being a TRUE BELIEVER. After 30 years of arguments even Professor Stephen Hawking told the world that his theory on the black hole has flaws in the information paradox part.
New concepts r required with a neutral view in every aspect of establised beliefs for new theories and inventions in this Holographic universe.

Darkness is merely the absence of light . A particular object is dark means no light is coming from that object. Darkness is a state . Hence, it is not propagated through space or any medium. Therefore, we cannot define speed or velocity for darkness. But the velocity of light is 3 * 10 to the power of 8, metre per second. Hence, Light travels faster!
I really wonder about the thinking capacity of your brain. You ask questions that are really sensible. Good! Carry on the great work.

And what makes you think that anyone will be hurt by your question?
I agree with Riya that darkness is "absence of light" and light is energy and 3*10^8 is the velocity with which light is propagated.
Just like vacuum is the absence of air, ignorance is absence of knowledge.
And darkness is a name given for the condition for absence of light. That doesn't mean that it is some sort of energy.
Like the absence of heat is cold, doesn't mean that cold is something that is present or measured. There is a limit to presence of heat like 0K or -273 deg C so we are actually measuring heat not cold.
I feel you are thinking to much which is good in a way but come down- don't make it all too complicated. Sometimes, simple things confuse us if we think too much about it.

Have you read the Greek story of Proserpina? mother Goddess's lovely daughter who was abducted by Pluto, theThe King of Darkness. So Mother Godess, took away 'light' from the earth in protest. For six months there was no light on Earth. so what is the moral of the story? Darkness exists because of light.
As it says in 'The Bible' : and God said , let there be light, so there was light. Life and light go hand in hand. Darkness means abyss and death.

Pluto is in the dark partly due to its distance from the sun. In the vast emptiness of space, light from the sun may be present but we can't see it as there is an absence of objects to relect the light so we can only see darkness. Darkness is the absence of light and has no particles to travel anywhere at any speed.

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." Genesis 1:1-3.

Darkness is a part of light. The existence of light being makes darkness. No light results no darkness (next to nothing).simply say the shadow of light is darkness.

DARKNESS is not made out of waves like LIGHT is (as scientists recently discovered)! It's just what your eyes "see" when there is no light. It's like Nothingness... You can't "feel" it, but it's there. By the way.... how did you get the idea that darkness "travels"?:))
