My van will turn over but won't start! please help me? i've heard things like timing belts,fuel pump,bad brain in computer,fuel filter i just don't know? oh yea it has 156,000 miles and since i've owned it i have not replaced anything yet. Help me? stranded in Maine!

If you've got 156K on it and have never done anything to it, it is probably at least time to change spark plugs.

A fuel filter is probably in order also.

ok now most will not tell you this, but it easy, get in side, of the car, an turn your swith on an off 3 time, after the 3 time live it on, what this does it bring you code up, a flash stop an 2 flash is code 12, now it should do this a few time showing code 12 the it read ,the other code, cound the flashes, the call auto,zone for the code meaning,,,,no too you want to see if you getting gas , an if the fuel pump is turnning on, listion, for it to turn on when you turn the swith on,,,,an with that many miles i change the filter,,, now when you rund the code check, an you get no code to coome uo, it going to be the brain

If it uses oil you might have some bad cyclinders. Have you ever had the oxygen sensors replaced? How bout the injectors cleaned, Ever replace the air filter? If you can get it to an Auto Zone they will check your computor and sensors for free. How bout replacing the spark plugs? Need to see a good mechanic.

It could be a blocked fuel filter try to start and take out a plug see if its wet if wet you have ignition problem if dry you have fuel problem valves may be worn.

Take it to a reliable garage and have it checked over. Possibly you want to replace it.
