I don't think you would have to audition because the reason you are taking the class is to learn the craft of acting. I would think that the coach might have everyone in the class do an 'audition' as part of the class...but not to get into the class. Just my guess. :)

It depends on the coach. Here in Los Angeles, some instructors have become so popular and sought-after that their classes are by audition only. However, I would think that that's the exception, and not the rule. Generally, if you've got the money to pay them, they'll find a space for you.

It depends. If the coach caters specifically to beginners, probably not. But if they take in students of higher experience levels, you might have to. The best thing I can suggest would be to look around for coaches in your area and call or email them to get a feel for what their requirements and lessons are like. Each coach will be different. Once you've found one you like, go with that one.

Either way you will end up doing monologue work so you might as well prepare on anyway.
