I have the same problem and the only doable answer I came up with is develop habits that allow you to focus on details, become more organized, plan ahead and slow down.

To show what I mean by developing habits, I used to lock my cars keys in my car alot. I now prevent this by devoloping the habit of locking my car with my keys from the outside of my car and using my keys to deadbolt the house from the outside and never using the lock that is turned by hand from the inside the door. So if I am in a hurry and try to lock a door without my keys, I'd quickly realize I didn't have my keys and still be able to get back inside without accidently locking the door. I do the same thing with my driver's license. Before I leave home for anywhere, I am in the habit of checking my wallet to see if I have it and checking my car for proof of insurance. The habit takes over and now I do it without even thinking about and has saved me alot of grief.

Become more organized. Take time to organize your stuff so you don't have to look for it later. Develop the habit of putting stuff back where it belongs when done using it. If doing this is a habit, you won't even think about doing it.

Plan ahead. Example, if you got to go to the DMV tomorrow to get another license, the night before make sure you got the paper work needed before you go and lay it out the night before in an easy to spot place. Guessing where stuff is at the last minute is annoying, and getting it together the night before saves alot of grief. I know.

Slow down. Never allow your self to be in a hurry or allow your self to run late going any where. If you do, you will over focus on getting there and WILL forget what you need when you do get there.

so i am!! scatterbrained people are useful in all the artistic fields where reason and detail arent that important.

Scatterbrainess is a gift,it means you think abstractly, your thoughts are free.

When you feel your mind wandering, take a deep breath,
shut your eyes, and remind yourself to "FOCUS"..........
It brings you back "down to earth". Know what I mean?
