All "system devices" "processors" "IDE ATI" controller are directly belong to CPU or Motherboard ... However with new CPU windows should automatically install all materials of CPU but it has been seen 95%, windows do not detect New Mother board material and require new Installation....However windows is saved in Hard-disk and should pick every kind of Motherboard whether new or old by itself ..But 95%, it Does not: Babye

No you do not. Your Operating System is loaded on your harddisk drive. Nothing is loaded onto the CPU. ....Until you Power On Self Test ------Boot the computer. Then ALL the instructions loaded run thru the CPU....You are replacing your Central Processing Unit? Right? The largest "chip" on the motherboard.

No you dont have to re-install the OS if you change the CPU. The files on your hard drive will not be disturbed in any way.
