Please don't feel bad or be anoyed, if I feel there is some misunderstanding and I mention it to you, because may be even I am wrong and misunderstood. That is why it is called sharing I think, I hope you agree with this.
Let us check, what we have the knowledge of religion, humanity, extremism, terrorism etc.. I am presenting my beliefs and thoughts. First of all let's see what is religion because we think it is the greatest power among all others that leads the majorities which is not terrorist.
The highest achievement according to religion is god. therefore religion is an individual tremendous zeel, effort & lots of devotional practice for the realization of God, the human truth. One can't achieve this just because of a group or cast or any label. One who has achieved it can guide or share experiences to others only for this purpose and for nothing else. This is the right definition of a religious leader. So rightly speaking all terrorism, extremism is not due to religon. So it is something else and needs deep servey to search the right reason. They use the word religion and not the real.

I agree no religion is beyond humanity, but then no humanity has ever been able to cross religion!! The power of religion is indeed too great..... like the atomic energy which when misused can bring about catastrophe!!

Since each individual has a distinctly unique image of God in his mind, single God for all is a pipe dream!

Religion is induction of some ethics into ourselves. Off course no religion is greater than humanity. Religion is the path towards humanity. If you study each religion properly, you will find that we are not following it to the best. Each religion talks about love, brotherhood, peace, etc. But we rather argue about foolish things, like Jesus is the best or Allah is the best or Vishnu is the best. We search for things in religious books which demark other religions. We never search for the ethics laid down for us to follow.

You create different set of rules and you will soon find another religion coming into picture. The best example of this is buddhism. Lord Buddha never preached buddhism. All he preached was peace, salvation, moksha, etc. but this stupid world labelled his followers as buddhists and coind a new religion known as Buddhism. So the concept of enforcing another set of ethics won't simply work.

Secondly, religion is just a tool used by terrorists to enhance their power. They jsut provoke and misguide people in the name of religion. The root motive of terrorism is not religion but power. They want power. They weant to take over the world. They just picked up a sensitive issue to provoke people. If it was not for religion, they could have provoked racism, regional boundaries, or whatever they think could be helpful to their purpose.

A assume that when talking about terrorists you are assuming a few activists in the middle east fight by the name of religion. However there are a few more terrorists groups in India like the Bodo's, the Alfa's, who are fighting for boundaries. Activists in Nagaland are fighting for being declared as a seperate country. LTTE was a group again fighting for territory. How would you relate these terrorist activities with religion?

Before making any judgements, we must study the case through all angles. The root cause of terrorism is not religion but it's lack of knowledge and ethics...

:-)

If I were the president I would have asked my country men , "forget religion for the next 5 years and try hard to prosper and let this be your religion for this 5 years." If people accept it, perhaps this is the best medicine for terrorism.

Some people are blotting the religion for their selfish ends. All religions recognise that there is one God even though ways chose in the form of religions are different. Hinduism is the mother of all religions. It recognises all religions are different way to realise God. Extremism and Terrorism of some people of particular religion, their acts are tarnishing the whole religion of particular faith.

See if you really look at this the problem is not the religion. It is because people dont have the love and care on each other (basic feelings of human heart is common and we only ruin that with our narrow minded approach).

Rather to search or name a single God we should learn to LOVE. thats is beyond all these and the real LOVE is GOD which we should realize.

Read Skandssashti Kavasam in Tamil - 'ANBEY (LOVE) SATHIYAM, ANBEY NICHAYAM, ANBE SAANTHAM, ANBEY AANANDHAM, ANBEY MOUNAM, ANBEY MOTCHAM, ANBEY BRAHMAMUM ANBEY ANAITHUM (EVERYTHING INCLUDING GOD).

Humanism is next to Godlyness.
Religion which ever may it be is also the same but the mute point is who preaches it and how ONE assimilates it.
It is like GOD made ONE WORLD MAN MADE MANY COUNTRIES AND IS STILL AT IT.

Please dont' labour under any such mis-apprehension . Religion is not the only culprit responsible for all extremism or terrorism. You mean a single almighty can stop all these things? By the by, can you name that omnipotent? It's education, I suppose.
