He plays at the Dubai open soon where Nadal is playing. Will it be someone in the top 10 or a no name that steals the spotlight. Either way, we might be waiting a while.

i think that if roger can keep winning until the clay season than nadal will be the one to beat him

however i dont know if he will win through to the clay matches. i think that sometime soon, there will be a big upset (its big if he loses to anyone) and everyone will be shocked

i wont be surprised if it comes in a quarterfinal or semifinal
the biggest threat right now is roddick who is playing great at the moment
in the dubai, i think that nadal wont make it through to the final, and davydenko will have the best chance of taking him down

in the clay season, you can bet that nadal will beat federer at least once and i think federer will lose a match or two to someone else because of his inconsistencies (the very few) on clay

Some people answering this question show their ignorance of tennis statistics, Nadal has not beaten Federer only once, he has beaten him 6 times out of 9 and beat him 4 times in a row last year including in the final of the tournament they are playing this week in Dubai ( not on clay ) ! ! Even a mediocre player like Tim Henman has beaten him 6 times out of 13 and another Brit, Andy Murray beat him last year just before the US Open in straight sets !
Any one of the top 20 could beat him if he has an off day but a huge server like Ljubicic, Roddick or Karlovic could do the job if they get lucky.

Except for Nadal (and Nalbandian, though DN has been mostly solved by now), I'd be surprised if it came from the actual top ten. The pattern, excepting Nadal, is for Federer to lose early in a tournament to a player likely to make the top ten or top five before too long (Berdych, Gasquet, Murray), especially if RF is overscheduled. When is he next likely to be overbooked? As he does have a tendency not to lose to players once he takes them seriously, I suppose the tentative non-Nadal front-runner is Gael Monfils.

Since Nadal is 6-3 lifetime against Federer, you always have to put your money on Nadal. I don't know how his injury is slowing him up right now though. But on clay especially, take Nadal over Federer.

Well the way Nadal is playing, it damn sure ain't going to be him. I don't care if he's the "King Of Clay" or not.

People keep saying Andy Murray going to be the next one to beat Federer. I doubt that sh!t too. Murray can't even serve.

I honestly think Roddick going to be the next to beat Federer.
